I figured MM deserved its own thread, 1Lincoln40...so here we are. I'm just going to pull over the link to The Murdoch Effect so I know where to go to find it. Ep 9x11 "A Case of the Yips" was pretty amusing...Murdoch gets obsessed with golf...and Julia actually has a pretty mean swing herself! It's interesting to see how they are handling the baby aspect...Julia and William originally had it all worked out with an evenly split schedule for childcare which of course gets thrown out the window as soon as William is called to a murder...I assume it will build to some sort of lifestyle decision on their part, but it's nice to see Julia featured so prominently in the cases once again. And, George....I just love his quirky character...

The Murdoch Effect was six very short episodes. The Murdoch Effect trailer: And I was just able to actually view it on the CBC website (usually I can't view any of the regular TV series episodes on the CBC site because I'm not in Canada, but for some reason I've always been able to view The Murdoch Effect and thier videos about how they make an episode....go figure). Link: The Murdoch Effect Episode 1

Hi everyone
Fjordmom I hope you get to see this, but I just got to see the heartbreaking moment when William handed the baby back to his biological father. I thought it was weird that Julia wasn't there but then I saw that she was waiting for William - sob! I was so hoping that the dad would return the baby to them but not when I read the last episode.
Also do you know if there will be another series because given everything that's happening with Castle, I will not be a happy viewer if we get another The Glades or Walker Texas Ranger end. Unless what happens to Julia is near the beginning and everything ends ok but makes them both think about their futures. Should I be worried?

B. That was REALLY tough to watch.... George actually got featured quite a bit this season, which I found nice.

Oh thanks heaps Fjordmom for that great news!! I do need to know however does Julia get shot at the end of the final episode?
Have you ever watched the original series that had Peter Outerbridge as Wiliam, Keeley Hawes as Julia, Colm Meaney as Brackenreid and Matthew MacFadzean as George.
I still have some episodes left so not over for me yet.
Thanks again for that news. I may check through that site further.

Saw the final episode a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it. The quiet morning spent in bed discussing their future, a new home, starting a family. The shooting, Murdoch not giving up on his wife, trying to find the shooter, the kidnapping, Julia going all frontier woman. I didn't know what to make of Murdoch's expression at the end though, but I am looking forward to the next season. Perhaps George will get back his old position, perhaps a promotion..? Another child for the Murdoch's or perhaps get back the baby they returned to his biological father.

1Lincoln40, it was nice to have hopeful ending, wasn't it!!!!! It will be interesting to see how they proceed next year. Actually I think the combination of Julia and William having a child and building a house would give them lots of fodder for storylines...and humorous ones at that. It did seem like George was featured quite a bit more this season, didn't it? I would love to see that continue and hopefully he will find someone new to love that actually works out.

Hey, 1Lincoln40...I've been meaning to weigh in on MM but I have to admit I am having a REALLY hard time keeping going...I have only been watching one or two episodes at a time with long lapses in between....when I got to the episode where William was selling some elixir (at least that's what my fuzzy mind remembers) I just could not watch. I may go back to it, but I guess I've reached a saturation point, some of the storylines are a little too far-fetched for me. I think I read, though, that they are coming back for another season? I did happen to come across The Doctor Blake Mysteries and love that show...binge watched series 1-4! Can't wait for series 5.

Fjordmom good to see that you are still around. I just managed to get through season 10.
I really wish that George could have a relationship that works. Henry needs to be put out of his misery and maybe I have my wish on that one. This season was more miss than hit for me but one episode made up for it when their serial killer returned. THE most creepy episode that has ever been for MM. Also interesting finale, so many threads to pick up.
Also love me some Dr Blake and looking forward to seeing whether Julian and Jean can finally get it together.

Well, 1Lincoln40, I am getting desperate for something to watch... ...I'll have to go back for the serial killer!!!! RE: Doctor Blake...I do sooooooooo hope Lucien and Jean can move forward and show some feelings....talk about a halting, excruciating, nuanced romance..... ... which of course keeps us around hoping for MORE, MORE, MORE!

It's been a while Fjordmom, but I wonder if you have already seen Season 11? December 21st and I am in the middle of watching the Christmas episode where an archaeologist gets killed, we meet Murdoch's brother (great bit of casting) and his family.

Finally started season 11 and I was pleased to see that Julia was not a 'damsel in distress' but allowed to rescue herself. Sorry about the loss of one of the officers though and the wrong one for me.
Fjordmom, do you know anything about Frankie Drake which apparently comes out of MM? A movie which starts the series is a cold case as this series is set in the 1920's, but the original case was investigated by Brackenreid & Watt.
