Fjordmom- first things first - hell yess! to knowing how this season ends please!
I liked the episode with the Jolson brothers. I liked the brief discussion about motion pictures. I found myself wondering if they hadn't found a way to sync the sound with the pictures if for that time period movies would have died out until much later when someone found a way to do it. I can't imagine how many much loved movies may never have been. There just seemed to be so many experiments and risks taken in those early days. I also liked the chess episode which again showed what women were not allowed to do, so much that we take for granted these days.
I also found myself wondering if somehow Julia is still pregnant because she was carrying twins? It just seemed odd to me that the doctor who was doing the experiments would bring in the rabbit at this late a stage when Julia already knew that she was pregnant.
Let the tears flow but hopefully this season ends on a happy note....

SPOILERS *** SPOILERS ***
FINALE: FREE FALLING
Well, 1Lincoln40 , I'm happy to report that you will still need that kleenex but you will be smiling through tears....for William and Julia, that is. Poor George is another story....he makes a tough, sad decision, and becomes quite the philosopher and "therapist" for William. Looking forward to your thoughts on the last two episodes.

Fjordmom - following your spoilers of April 25th, consider me very intrigued to the point where Monday, April 30th at 9pm UK time, cannot arrive soon enough!! I doubt that I will be able to let you know what I think of the episode until Wednesday though.

Shadows Are Falling - wow... One of the complaints about Castle was the lack of continuity as Rick says in one their fights, "we almost die frozen in each others arms but we never talk about it" Here we had a reminder of Julia's abortion from one of the earlier seasons and how they both related to that event. And, they still hold the same view points. As heart breaking as the ending was between Julia & William it was exactly how it should have ended given the two characters. What the episode also showed is that they don't function as well if they are at odds with one another. Also that awkwardness from colleagues who care about them. In such situations, what can you say? Love that we are in the 11th season and it is still true to the characters (most of the time) with murders that are interesting, at least for me.
Fjordmom - so, according to a review on imdb, something is not quite resolved and they didn't appear to be talking about William and Julia?

I love reading your comments, 1Lincoln40!! You're much more thorough than I am . It is refreshing to see a show that has kept the continuity in mind of characters and past events which play into their actions at present. I don't quite agree with the IMDB "something is not quite resolved" ... maybe I need to watch both episodes again, I guess things aren't totally resolved, but maybe it's my rose-colored glasses in play and I'm thinking good thoughts for the next season . Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the finale!!!!!!

Fjordmom - thank you for your kind words...
Loved that the finale picked up where the penultimate left off. No, well that's all forgotten then as Castle was apt to do when fans were wanting our couple to talk about an event. The almost dying in the freezer, the undercover kiss, just preventing the bomb from exploding. With Murdoch, William and Julia were still reeling from the loss of the baby and for Julia that William believed she was being justly punished. I did like the case that kept Murdoch occupied but alas away from the station house and Julia. I did kinda hope that maybe the guy was a ghost. To me that would have been far more interesting than the case itself. I am also pleased that William did not allow Julia to leave as I feel she would not have returned, nor perhaps would he ever discover where she had gone. I also love the concern shown by Brackenreid & George. Again not, oh well, they'll get over it. As for George, at some point he must leave because his character showed up in the 1st episode of Frankie Drake and he didn't appear to be a police officer. That said, I hope that if there is to be another season, they give the guy a break where women are concerned. I loved his relationship with the woman and her son from a few seasons back.
As for the not quite resolved, I would say more that something was started. The assistant that Julia offered a post to now wants her position and appears will do whatever it takes to get it away from Julia.
In a way I am relieved that this season has ended as I am fast running out of viewing hours because of all the other shows that I follow which are quite a few episodes behind the US screening of them.

I agree with you, "something was started" because it sure does seem the assistant has less than friendly motives. Interesting about Frankie Drake, I'd hate to see Jonny Harris leave Murdoch, but on IMDB he is only listed for that one episode (The Pilot). And I, too, loved the woman and her son and have often wished she would reappear in his life, she was much more down to earth and I think really better suited to George than Nina (was that her name? It is hard to keep up with viewing, isn't it?

Fjordmom - happy to report that we can look forward to season 12!! It appears that Helene Joy is discussing the up coming season. So far rumored that William and Julia could be writing a book together. And that would be interesting and possibly be preparing them to leave Toronto and what they do now?
Showrunners obviously aware that fans love George and so apparently will be dealing with him having a girlfriend.
Alas of absolutely no interest to me, Higgins getting married.

Excellent news!!!! I'm with you, though re: Higgins and marriage, as his character doesn't enthuse me .

Recently read that Murdoch was back filming in Port Hope, June 19th.
Supposedly Canada's most watched drama...
And, something that never occurred to me, but reading comments about the finale, some viewers are wondering whether the woman from the morgue (Violet I believe) actually caused Julia's miscarriage with the drink she gave her when Julia was suffering with morning sickness...
Overall, viewers can't wait for Season 12.

Fjordmom I shall be relying to your posts to let me know what happens with our Murdoch crew in their 12th season as right now I no longer have access to the channel which had the series. Nor I am the only cable customer who is not happy with the loss of Alibi in the UK.

B Sorry to hear that! I'm wondering myself whether I'll be able to see it....I know I won't be able to view it on the CBC site so my only hope is that ACORNTV will have season 12, although I'm sure it will be later than the series is viewable in Canada.

I’m just finishing up season 5. I am lost with the non-relationship between Dr. Ogden and Murdock. It sounds like they do get together but it’s very confusing in season 5.

Season 5 is so long ago I don't even remember what happened ... Definitely a lot of viewing for you, but I think you will be glad if you continue on!!!!!!

Tycho - for me, unlike the forced separation in Castle, the separation between William and Julia always made sense. Annoying yes, but you could understand why it happened. And right before everything is sorted out, there is yet another stumbling block which if I remember correctly (probably not!) saw Julia possibly heading for the hangman's noose.
Fjordmom - happy to report (at least I hope it's permanent) that the channels which I lost, including the one that show Murdoch has been returned by my cable provider. I once again have something that I know I want to watch at 9pm every evening rather that trying to find something to watch.
