I just started watching season 6. The first scene was a wedding between Murdock and Julia. I thought what did I miss?!? Then we saw it was just a dream. It is interesting that they show us dreams that Julia and Murdock have about each other long before they actually get together.

Tycho - The daydreams that I have always loved are the ones where Murdoch dreams of Julia and a son. The location may change but it is always a boy of about 5yrs, 6yrs old. The other thing about this series is that for me, they not only know their audience but also what they expect to see and so deliver. It may not be in a way that we expected but never the less we do get what we wanted. As in the marriage but their characters haven't changed. Julia hasn't suddenly become 'a wife'. She is still Julia. Their affection for each other may have ramped up though.

Fjordmom - thanks for the heads up on season 12. I cannot play the link because the UK does not yet have Acorn TV although I recently read that they are expanding into new territories so who knows. However, it made me check out the tube and there were some very interesting clips. The cast still seem invested in the series (made me sad thinking about what happened with our show ) and I think that it was Helene who seemed surprised at just how much fans still enjoy the show. It also appeared as if the episodes have been posted although I don't know if they will play or if you have to follow a link. I did however watch a preview of a couple of the episodes.
Also on some channel in the UK (I assume Alibi) but I need to pay attention if it show again, will be the 3 or was it 4 movies of Murdoch based on the books with a completely different cast.

I somehow missed the Murdoch movies over the holiday period but yay! Murdoch Season 12 is on my screen. I love that they can still come up with different situations like William & Julia finally getting a home of their own in which Murdoch seems keen to invent appliances to make life easier around the house. I like that Julia is once again trying to escape the morgue but finds herself pulled back in. I am sooo relieved that Higgins is gone although I assume we shall see him get married. And in the 2nd episode, poor George yet again but interesting that she was suppose to be Elizabeth Arden! His best partner was that young mum and her son who unfortunately ended up killing his abusive dad.

Sad to say that I have just had the misfortune to watch the most pathetic episode ever of Murdoch. An hour of my time that I won't get back. It was the episode in which Higgins got married but sadly I don't think that we will be rid of him as a character... However I guess, one episode out of 12 seasons can't be bad.... B

B Just started watching season 12...certainly an interesting mix...so far I'm really enjoying it for the most part, but some of the storylines and characters are kind of out there...I noticed the Elizabeth Arden reference, too....brought back fond memories of a toner that my mom used of hers....my mom was definitely not into makeup, etc, so that's why I find it so interesting, and I remember how good it smelled (so I assume I must have tried it once or twice ( !!!) myself. They do seem to be trying very hard to get George "hitched" up with someone...I too wish they would bring back the young mother.

1Lincoln40, if you thought the Mimico Wedding was bad, wait until you see "Sir. Sir? Sir!!!". I have a low tolerance for sci-fi anyway, so this was definitely not up my alley and cringe-worthy to boot....although I will admit I did laugh at some of it. I checked IMDB to see what the ratings were for this episode (it was one of the lowest), but it was interesting to learn through the reviews that when this actually first aired in Canada it was in the Halloween timeframe, so that helped explain the bizarre nature of it....although they never really even wrapped up the episode in any way, just kind of left the whole thing hanging. Luckily the next episode got back to what Murdoch Mysteries should be in my opinion. I don't mind the occasional straying but it just seems like they're doing it a lot with Season 12.

Fjordmom- thanks soo much for warning me about what was surely the weirdest ever episode of Murdoch. I like sci-fi but for me, like Castle - The Time Of Our Lives, it went too far outside of what the show is about. I loved the scene of Julia and William at the blackboard discussing the gravitational protection of the earth and Thomas just 'eyes to heaven' letting them get on with it. I guess I liked the homage to Invasion of the Body Snatchers down to that guy at the end entering the station trying to warn them just as Kevin McCarthy tried to warn people in the original, but nah, not Murdoch. I'm waiting to see how the book comes about, a blast from Thomas' past and whether Murdoch is successful in becoming more than a detective. I also hope that Yannick and the other producers will know when to end the series leaving us wanting more and perhaps give us years later epilogue. Whenever William dreamed of a life with Julia, they always had a little boy and that would be so cool. George appeared in the 1st episode of Frankie Drake and didn't seem to be a cop but a man of some means so perhaps he becomes a successful novelist? The less shown of Higgins, the happier I will be... B

For me right now, Murdoch Mysteries needs to call it a day. Part of that is that there isn't much of Murdoch solving murders and coming up with some technology. There also seems to be a lack of George although I do like young John Brackenreid. I also like what's happening with Thomas. Waay too much Higgins and his wife! Not sure if there might be a cliffhanger to S12 involving young John but unless the stories improve, it will become something I watch later...
