I'm going to checkout Scott & Bailey. I'm watching Justified with my son. He comes over once a week and we watch an episode. I thought it got better after the 1st season. I'm rewatching The Glades. For some reason I really like that show. It's unfortunate it got cancelled without getting to wrap anything up. On Netflix I just started watching Turn about the Revolutionary War. I've also been watching Outer Banks but having trouble really getting into it. My husband keeps telling me to stick with it. I'm always looking for good shows to watch. I've even started watching Cedar Cove and Good Witch on Hallmark. We watched Justified when it first aired and overall, enjoyed it. I agree about The Glades. It was a good show but I'm still angry at A&E for canceling it with that cliffhanger. I read an interview with the show runner, and he was under the impression they were getting another season, but then A&E decided to go with darker, more serious shows and canceled them after they had filmed that season finale.

Has anyone here ever watched a show called Scott and Bailey. It's a British show and all five seasons are currently on Hulu. It's sort of an updated, grittier Cagney and Lacey. My husband and I are just loving it! So I watched several episodes of Scott and Bailey. Wow, they all have screwed up lives. Even the one that I thought had it all together is screwed up! I'm getting into it though. Every time I watch an English show the accent throws me off for a couple of episodes and I used to work with Indians all the time. You wouldn't think accents would bother me! I finished the 1st season of Perry Mason. It's only 8 episodes but I guess I'm hooked now. We're really getting desperate for things to watch now.

Some of the character's lives stabilize over time, while others don't. It has some twists I didn't expect but I'm really enjoying the characters and the cases they work on. I love British accents. Indian accents usually take me a while to decipher. My daughter has several friends who are Indian, many of whose parents have moved here from India and the thick accent is always a challenge for me. Of course, the toughest accent I've ever tried to figure out was an old friend who was Scottish. When Robin would get upset, his Scottish accent would get so thick I couldn't understand a word!

ibmjas, I don't know which series you might have already watched, but over the past year I've watched The West Wing, The Good Wife, White Collar, and Rozzeli and Isles. Also, I loved The Glades and was sorry it got cancelled. We no longer get the Hallmark Channel since we dropped our cable company, and I'm sure there are lots of shows there that would interest me. We have Netflix so there is usually a good movie to watch.

USA used to have some great shows but decided to switch to more hard-core shows with lots of crime and sex. Maybe they were trying to compete with HBO and other premium channel series. I've got Disney+. I need to check out some of their shows. It just isn't easy to find things that I want to see on the streaming services.

ibmjas - like PTVJ I enjoyed reading your opinion about Perry Mason. I am unable to watch it as I don't have access to the channel but I didn't like what I read about it. However, if you say that the series now appears to to heading towards how it was originally presented, it may prove interesting. I am still loving the original and the way in which the law is presented compared to shows like Law & Order. I used to love The Glades but I have no idea how far it went in the UK. I do know that fans were furious at the way in which it ended. Sounded like the ending to Walker, Texas Ranger when Alex got shot. PTVJ - I always thought that Scott & Bailery was the UK version of Cagney & Lacey but I have never watched it. My favorite UK detective of recent times remains Vera. As much as I have wanted to watch Manifest (Tefla has kindly sent me some spoilers) I have been sidetracked by the History Channel. I have always been fascinated by the pyramids especially when there are further discoveries made and I have now added Nikola Tesla to that interest. His supporters keep wondering what kind of world we might be living in had he been allowed to succeed. It appears we would have had free energy world wide and wireless technology with much less pollution. B

Just curious if anyone is/will be watching Lovecraft Country. Looks interesting but I may need to have my brain in gear if I was able to watch it. B

Just saw a cute movie on Netflix called Love Guaranteed. It's similar to a Hallmark movie.

I had a free month of Hulu. I watched Atlantis only to discovery they didn't know they were not going to have a season 3 and they left it hanging.

Anyone watching Transplant? I think it just started last week on NBC. We caught the pilot and have 1 on the DVR. The pilot was good so we'll hang in for a while. A Syrian immigrant in Canada is working at a restaurant when he witnesses a horrible accident and provides assistance to the victims. It's discovered that he was a doctor in Syria, but not licensed (or something) in Canada and really just needs a chance.

So, I am now in the final season of Charmed and still speeding through. I keep wondering if I should take my finger off fast forward to listen, but I don't. The end of S7 was interesting when the sisters become other people. Those actors behaved like best friends rather than sisters. The kind of friends that were fun and liked to have a good time. I just liked them immediately! Piper and Leo seemed like the usual couple where writers just don't know how to write a happily married couple but at least their separation made sense. Unlike the horrendous travesty that we had to watch in S8 of our show. Still angry about that and it appears I am not the only one. Really don't like Paige. She was written as someone who never learns from her mistakes. Her favorite line seems to be: I'm sorry but" as she goes ahead and does something that Piper and Phoebe advised her not to do or, she will do something knowing that if she got into trouble, her sisters would rescue her. And as much as I didn't like Phoebe I really disliked the way that she didn't have a life unless there was a man in it. So it seemed like every 6th episode she would have a new guy, start falling in love with him, something would happen, he would leave and be replaced with yet another one! And, not only does Dr Motorcycle Boy show about 6 episodes from the end, we had our very own Kevin Ryan as a supernatural in one episode! Also dislike how the show became, which demon will we need to kill this week? And haven't got a clue who Billie is. Still looking forward to how it ended. B

1Lincoln40, You express many of my feelings about the original Charmed towards the end. I think I stopped watching the last couple of seasons and then went back because I wanted to know how it all turned out. Piper was always my favorite but the writers made her and Leo a bit of a mess. Not nearly as bad as Castle, but still not really enjoyable. I grew to like Phoebe, but you're right in that they didn't know what to write for her if it didn't involve a man. Paige was more of an annoying afterthought, and by they end they threw in a lot of extra characters. It's funny when you mention Billy because all I can remember about that character is that the actress goes on to play Penny on The Big Bang Theory! I've started watching the new Charmed and it's not bad. It takes a while to get going. It's the same concept (sisters, power of 3) but has its own spin on it. I have about half of season 2 to watch yet but I'm not sure when I'll find the time. Let me know if you decide to check it out and what you think.

Would love to know if anyone will/has watched Rebecca. My favorite version is the one with Jeremy Brett and Joanna David who's daughter Emilia Fox played the same character years later. I know when I read who was playing Maxim in this new version I thought that he was way too young. Also still enjoying the original Perry Mason. We are now getting episodes from S6 and I wonder if Raymond Burr was ill or doing something else as there have been a few episodes where he is seen in a couple of scenes in hospital. And his replacements - wow, at least that's how I reacted. Bette Davis! and I would have watched a series with her character. Michael Rennie and Walter Pidgeon. There are also times when the episode is ambling along as usual and then suddenly I'm "huh?" because it completely changes what should happen next. B
