PTVJ - I am a spoiler junkie so please, spoil away!! I know that I lost any interest that I had when Prue was killed. (For me it lost something in the same way that Charlie's Angels did when Kate Jackson left.) I did watch a couple of episodes after her death cos I knew that Piper would be devastated. They also did a 70's episode which was cuteness overload! The young Piper was wearing baggy clothes with and I just wanted to scoop her up in a bear hug! (Personally Castle did 70's better - love that episode!). I think I saw the episode when Piper married Leo. Can't remember how the mom came back cos she's suppose to be dead which is why they were raised by their grandma. I know that trying to watch how the series ended was not an option because I was totally lost with regards the characters and who the young girl is that was able to close the door the way in which Prue used to do. Also damn, but they had some fine looking men in that show and most of them were with Piper!! B

Yes, the series changed after Prue's death but there were issues with the actress and I think she chose to leave so it didn't leave the writers a lot of options if they wanted to keep the series going.
I was never a huge fan of Paige, but I like how Piper grew into the role of oldest sister. I liked Piper and Leo but their relationship became more frustrating to me as the series went on. And their grown kids coming back from the future got so complicated at times that it seemed like work to figure it all out.
I grew to like Phoebe more as the series went on and I enjoyed her relationship with Cole (Julian McMahon). I was a bit shocked at who she ends up marrying in the end and his connection to Castle!

I have been surprised that Charmed has been my "must see series". I will only be watching another 6 episodes as we have reached the end of Prue's time on the show. From what I have been learning through YouTube, there was some kind of disagreement between Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano and they had a choice, Shannen or Alyssa and they went with Alyssa. It would have made sense if Phoebe was lost because to me, she was willing to endanger her sisters for her love affair with Cole. I also understand that things got quite complicated in the later seasons. It also seems to me that fans would have preferred the children of the 'charmed ones' to have been used in the new series rather than the reboot that is being shown.
I also realised that I had never seen the pilot and was happy that YouTube had bits of it. What was even more interesting was finding the unaired pilot. Very interesting. A different actress played Phoebe and to me, she seemed like the oldest sister. I also didn't get the 'sister vibe' that the 3 actresses had in 3 seasons that I watched. And there was a different actor playing the detective. I'll say it again, that series sure that some fine looking men on it.
Also one of our channels dug up the original series in black and white of Perry Mason which has been fun to watch.

So, my time with Charmed is at an end although I am still recording episodes which are new to me but I tend to fast forward through them. The little that I have seen of Chris, I dislike him as much as I disliked Phoebe. Paige is beginning to annoy me although I can understand her behavior. She grew up an only child so is trying to get used to being a sister. She also tends to use magic without thinking that there might be consequences. What has been really interesting for me is that Prue has remained a presence. Usually when a main character has left or been killed, several episodes later it's a case of who? It's as if they never existed. It was also interesting to see just how dominate and powerful Piper became after Prue's death. And the kind of powers that Wyatt had and he wasn't even a year old! I have yet to see their arrival but it looks like Phoebe ends up with our very own Dr Motorcycle boy aka Victor Webster and Paige ends up with Ivan Sergei. I also agree with fans that it would have been interesting to see Wyatt & Chris continue the story rather than having a reboot with no connection to the original three. To see how the young men dealt with being the children of a charmed one together with having a kid sister. B

Broken record, but yet again, I have watched the arrest scene from Veritas and for me, that scene seems to become more powerful with each viewing. Unless I was just in that mindset. The tension of wondering whether one of the team was going to take a bullet for Beckett as she tried to open the elephants. The brilliant way that Jack Coleman had Bracken stumble over his words when he saw Beckett arrive. Then the hesitation, the exhale of breath, the emotion from Stana as Kate finally arrested the man responsible for the murder of her mother. The ending to that episode should definitely have been the deleted scene of Kate putting away her mother's ring. I have also watched again the 70's episode, just fun. Still dislike the wedding episode but love the characters which returned to being fun, Room 147 also fun. B

The story with Chris seemed more complicated than it had to be, and I wasn't thrilled with how they handled Leo and Piper over the last few seasons. But I always enjoyed how Piper went from being the insecure middle sister to a strong leader as the series progressed. And I'd never thought of continuing the series with the grown sons, but that could be really interesting. It's also something they could still choose to do in the future.

I started watching Perry Mason. It's on HBO. I really wanted to like it but it's kind of strange. It's set in the 30s. Perry Mason is a detective and Paul Drake is a police officer. The lawyer is Birchard played by John Lithgow. Although they use some names from the original Perry Mason stories, no one seems to have the same role and it really bears no resemblance to the original stories. I really don't know why they even called it Perry Mason. It's dark, the characters are a sad lot. Apparently they will work one case for an entire season. I'm trying to stick with it but don't know if I can.

ibmjas we dropped HBO after Game of Thrones ended in order to cut costs, but I've been curious about the new Perry Mason. Thank you for your mini-review because now I don't feel like I'm missing out! How can they redo Perry Mason and not make him a lawyer? That's just strange. However, I did just read that HBO renewed the show for season 2.

It's dark with brooding characters. No one is particularly honest although some have a conscious and everyone jumps in bed whenever they get the chance. Why is that always the stuff the critics like? Stuff that is fun and entertaining they pan.

I am enjoying a series on NatGeo called Rogue Trip. It is a 6 part series about Bob Woodruff and his son doing a trip around the world. Nice escape from reality.

Tonight I just watched the 5th episode and all of a sudden, Mason is upset with all the corruption and has cheated his way into becoming a lawyer! I was shocked and maybe this is going to become like the Perry Mason I know. He is already working with Della Street and has acquaintance with other people with recognizable names so maybe they are all going to come together to be what I expected all along! I never read the books so don't know if this is following along with the way it was originally written or if they are taking some liberties to set up the series framework. I definitely have to keep watching now.

Has anyone here ever watched a show called Scott and Bailey. It's a British show and all five seasons are currently on Hulu. It's sort of an updated, grittier Cagney and Lacey. My husband and I are just loving it!

I will check that show out. I signed up for a free month of Hulu. I enjoyed “Agent X” only 10 episodes but they did kind of tie up the ending. I’m rewatching Firefly. Watched Australia, love Hugh and Nicole.

I'm going to checkout Scott & Bailey. I'm watching Justified with my son. He comes over once a week and we watch an episode. I thought it got better after the 1st season. I'm rewatching The Glades. For some reason I really like that show. It's unfortunate it got cancelled without getting to wrap anything up. On Netflix I just started watching Turn about the Revolutionary War. I've also been watching Outer Banks but having trouble really getting into it. My husband keeps telling me to stick with it. I'm always looking for good shows to watch. I've even started watching Cedar Cove and Good Witch on Hallmark.
