Tonight we get a brand new experience - Castle in the courtroom. Many of us have wished for this for a long time. It'll be interesting to see how it's handled.
Please come back and share your thoughts later.

Really enjoyed this episode. Loved that Castle took his role on the witness stand seriously and didn't come off as a goof. I felt so sorry for how he got raked over the coals by Caleb Brown. Nice to see the rest of the team involved as witnesses. It felt like Castle tonight. Everyone working together to solve the case. Separation thing still bugs me, but it wasn't the main focus of tonight and that was ok. The end scene in the courtroom had me wondering if something like that could really go down in a real courtroom. I think probably not, but we all know how to suspend reality for some things in our beloved show.
Anyway, liked the episode. Can't wait to see how Kate gets to Caleb Brown.

My favorite episode of the season so far. For all of the reasons castlelover66 mentions. Loved seeing the team working together again, Kate and Castle working together, a good, compelling case story. Felt much more like our Castle show of old.
Hopefully future episodes will continue to follow this path. And we get rid of this stupid separation/Loksat story soon.

I liked it. More than i have any other this season, but thats not hard. I really liked Castle on the stand. Nathan does such a great job when he is playing it straight, not silly goofy Rick. There were afew times i cringed at his silliness (raising his left hand) but definitely not as much as previous eps. The nose thing was silly. Couldnt come up with something a tad more romantic? Overall pretty good. Felt like Caskett was more of a team. You could almost forget they were separated. Not sure i like the Caleb/Kate thing they've got going on. Dont trust it. Dont think he'll end up being the bad guy in the end. Why isnt Kate telling Rick about LokSat? I thought that was the deal. Vikram annoys the crap out of me. Why is he there again? Previews look heavy Rick again, so Im not counting on much Caskett time - sadly.

That felt good! As others have mentioned, if you didn't know that Kate and Rick were separated, it wouldn't have even occurred to most viewers. It seemed like there were quite a few more minutes of on screen time for Caskett this time around and one of the highlights for me was seeing the 4 of them trying to break the case late at night over Chinese takeout. All's right with the world! The loft scenes felt very genuine and natural and it was a decently lit, nice kiss at the end. I'm very happy with the way they played the courtroom scenes, especially the editing that included testimony by Ryan and Espo. Lanie did a nice job and I'm wondering if I missed a quick comment from the Prosecutor about her. The introduction of Caleb Brown was sure aggressive and it provides a bit of an opening for them to revisit Castle's disappearance, which they said they'd conclude this season. Too bad it was so hard for Castle on the stand though. On a very SHALLOW side note - HOLY HOTNESS BATMAN! Nathan looked 10 years younger and OH SO handsome on the closeups during his first testimony! WHEW! In regards to the LokSat issue, I was pleased to hear Kate express some impatience and say outright that she wants her life back. It can't come soon enough for me. I wonder how they'll work Caleb Brown into further episodes. Maybe he'll be the go-to Public Defender for the next few episodes. From a storytelling standpoint, they did a nice job of creating one character image in his first court appearance and then doing a 180 when he actually was concerned about finding out the truth. Ryan and Espo had some cute scenes. I liked Espo having to 'fess up to being had by an old lady and then when they confronted the photographer, the boys did a nice job of taking turns playing out the story. Even though it speaks to inconsistency, it felt good to have the guys accepting Castle and working together without friction. It was sure great to see Castle playing the role of a famous author and the way he used that to his advantage with the rich woman was a hoot! We'll definitely have to look for that character in the next book! Castle was also very focused on finding the truth and was the one who cracked the case - just like the good old days. I've got my fingers crossed that tomorrow night feels just as good as tonight. It's been a LONG time coming!

It sounds to me that Caleb might be the weak link in Locksat's organization because he isn't evil.
This is officially the first INTERESTING plot twist of the entire arc.

There were at least TWO OBJECTIONS the DA should have made.
Objection! Badgering the witness
Objection! The witness was not on trial.
Was this the one who got Castle banned from the precinct last year? He seems pretty bad at his job.

It still bothering me that contrary to Kate's promise to Castle in episode 8, she is still keeping castle in the dark about her investigation and withholding information.

Haven't watch the episode yet but I wanted to note that this was written by TP Winter and directed by Bill Roe. Hopefully you saw some of that seasoned Castle come out from Terence in this episode. He has written some favorites over the years.

Best episode this season. The four of them eating take out Chinese and discussing the case was one of the best scenes this season. Great to see glimpses of old school Castle back.

Castle rarely shows the courtroom part of their cases. This one took an interesting twist on a plot as old as Dorothy Sayers, if not older, of having a juror question the accused's guilt and the detectives then finding the real perp. Almost every procedural does some version of this plot, usually with one of the regulars not having been able to get out of jury duty then having questions about the initial investigation based on testimony. I appreciate that Castle changed it up, with Castle a prosecution witness, not someone on the jury

It sounds to me that Caleb might be the weak link in Locksat's organization because he isn't evil. This is officially the first INTERESTING plot twist of the entire arc. This is such an interesting plot twist, because we see Caleb, as, in my own opinion, a brilliant lawyer who fights for the people. I wonder what Bracken was like when he was the Assitant DA, because he was very two faced and nearly seduced a Nation. If , in fact, he stumbles and exposes a dark side, how long will it take for Castle to be let in? I don't think Kate wants to share anything with Castle yet, if at all. The LA episode may cause a lot of problems for Kate. She may not want to share anything at all. She is determined to solve this herself. In her mind, she is protecting Rick, but to me, the problem is festering. And if she looks in the mirror, she will see that she is a lot like Caleb. She fights for the people, but she has this dangerous dark side as well that eats at her like a bad virus. The rabbit whole awaits for her and Rick knows it could happen at anytime. That is why he keeps asking her to share. This storyline between Caskett is going to determine a lot the rest of the season. God, I hope Vikram is a bad guy.

It still bothering me that contrary to Kate's promise to Castle in episode 8, she is still keeping castle in the dark about her investigation and withholding information. I totally agree. I think she wants to save her marriage, but she still doesn't want to share. She keeps promising she will, but until she has no other choice, Castle just sits and keeps asking to help.

Did anyone hear Kate subtly suggest that Castle change "Genres"? I think that was written as foreshadowing for the future. Wouldn't you love to see him write the story of one of the biggest cover ups in history? I am guessing that is what LokSat is.

I was so glad that Rick's memory focused on what really happened. This is a key for everything. Sooner or later, the missing two months are going to snap into focus like him seeing the killer. He must have felt really good about that. He must have thought he was going crazy there for a moment. And wasn't it nice to see Kate, by his side, and the two of them prompting each other and then Rick seeing the light. The intended improve between the two was brilliant. Now it wasn't old school, by any means, but it was a good place to start. This show is a work in progress as we transition to Capt. Beckett, secret agent. She is the new Agent Carter....LOL. This episode laid a lot of groundwork for the future of this show. For one fleeting of madness, I thought I heard the whistle blowing on the little train that could.
