Other than being totally cute, I have no idea! I do know that sweatshirts can come in handy though. One of my earlier generation goats got his horn broken off by my sister's rambunctious quarterhorse when he literally ran over him...my vet always tried to give me advice on what to do to avoid the cost of a visit....it was bleeding quite badly, so I needed to stuff the remaining horn with cotton balls and then wrap it with duct tape. Voila! Problem one solved. The next issue was that it was during a winter cold snap and I needed to somehow try to keep his body heat intact....so her advice was to use an old sweatshirt, cut it down the middle on the front side, put it over his back and put his front legs in the sleeves....just to make sure it stayed on, I gave it a wrap around his belly with duct tape. Voila! Problem two solved. He made it through the night fine and his broken horn healed up!

Maybe it's overstating things to place this in the "Because It Brings Me Joy" thread, but I really wanted to share my happiness somewhere! As most of you know, I'm a self-proclaimed Hallmark addict and darn proud of it! About a month ago, I purchased all 7 seasons of their series, "When Calls The Heart" on iTunes and started binge watching it. I finished last night and I don't know if I've ever had such a satisfying run of entertainment - other than the first 6 seasons of Castle. Being able to watch so much of the show was like reading a wonderful novel, filled with real and relatable characters, love, humor, light drama and lots of heart. It's in my veins now! I can hardly wait for the next season, sometime in early 2021 I believe. The show has a large cast and many different story lines going in any given episode. I can't say enough about the quality of the writing. Characters stay in character, events unfold in a logical way and there's always a positive message to be gleaned from the episodes. My kind of show!

I watch a lot of Hallmark but haven't seen any of that series. Glad you got so much enjoyment out of it. It's funny how you can get so sucked into the characters lives like they are close friends. When I get involved in a series like that, it's hard to make myself go to bed because I want to watch just one more episode!

My kind of show! I have not watched this show. Isn't Lori Loughlin in that series? I think they wrote her out of the show when the scandal hit about the college entrance cheating? I might have to check this out. I don't think I get the Hallmark channel?

My kind of show! nathanfan1, you're not overstating anything! It's a wonderful show. Netflix has the first 5 seasons, so I'm waiting for them to add the rest. The same for Heartland, another wonderful series. I've seen the first 11 seasons and waiting to see seasons 12 & 13. We no longer get the Hallmark channel, so I'm probably in for a long wait. I'm still waiting for season 4 of The Crown. It's been almost two years since season 3 was released.

Thanks IBM and Drvr! Nice to know I'm not alone in my enthusiasm. Now that I've caught up on the series, I've started watching various interviews and panels with the cast members and I've been so pleasantly surprised. I remember how frustrating it was to watch Castle panels and interviews and have the cast members - especially Nathan - not be able to remember scenes and plot lines that impacted them when asked about their characters. As fans, we knew the scenes like the back of our hand! We also, often heard that they just basically did what the writer's put out there, implying that it was not their place to try to steer the story. Well, after watching MANY interviews with the cast of When Calls The Heart, I've sure come to appreciate the way every single one of them delights in embodying their character. They answer every question with specifics and have very obviously taken ownership of their character's story. Not only that, but when one of them recalls a meaningful scene or event, most of the others chime in with additional details and observations. I guess the best way to put it is that the cast members seem to truly be fans of their own show! They're proud of their work, totally invested and spend a good bit of time really processing what's happening to their characters. They talk of how often they'll work with one of the actors they share a scene with to really capture the tone and effect they want. And this is after 7 full seasons!I can sure see why they have a devoted fan base! I also agree about the Hallmark series, Heartland. That's a great one too. I've watched up through season 8 and had to take a break but I look forward to continuing with it.
