Hi everyone!
Hope I have posted this in the right place.
Just wondering what new shows have caught your attention as ones to sit down and watch.
Only one that I may check out if we get it in the UK is Blindspot. Immediately made me think of the Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury (I think wrote it). Movie with Rod Steiger.
THE show that I cannot wait to see again is Gotham, followed by Agent Carter. Then probably Arrow and the Flash. I am dreading the return of Grimm & Sleepy Hollow. As a hopeless romantic I was really hoping that the male leads of these two shows would be allowed some happiness with the women they loved. I will probably make the effort to watch the final season of Downton Abbey but I have yet to watch the last one. As for Castle I wait to read what you have to say and hope against hope that it revives my enthusiasm to watch live which I have only done once so far in S7, the first time this has happened since S1, E1 when a week was far too long to wait for the next episode.

Oops! Forgot to say that I am also looking forward to the return of X-Files. I wonder how David & Gillian will handle the internet which wasn't in full force when that series was at its peak. I believe their fans were as invested in them being a real life couple not just a 'reel life' couple as some fans are now invested in Nathan & Stana. And it was long after the series ended that I learnt that there was supposed to have been some sort of falling out between David & Gillian although unlike Castle whatever the truth, it never impacted on their performance in X-Files.

I have to admit, I'm really looking forward to the new Muppet show. Partially because I loved it as a kid but this version looks like a very creative update with Miss Piggy as the star of her own late night talk show while working with Kermit who is now her ex and the rest of the muppets we know and love. All of the promos have made me smile and I can't wait for the fun to start.

1Lincoln40, I was also a big fan of The X-files and I'm looking forward to it's mini series ( I think it's six episodes total) after the holidays. I have to admit that I stopped watching when David Duchovny left towards the end of the run but I've seen the follow up movie. The only thing that has me a little nervous is that I read somewhere that the second episode of the six is very violent which I'm not into. I'll still watch, but I may be hiding behind a pillow while I do.

I watch very little TV but I'm definitely going to check out The Muppets and also, the new live variety show that Neil Patrick Harris is doing. He's such a versatile entertainer and seems to have boundless energy. It just sounds like an upbeat change from the usual TV fare. I just hope his show is not on opposite The Muppets.

Looking forward to Fear the Walking Dead and the backstory to how the apocalypse started and how they're going to tie it into the original. I do admit I rarely catch The Walking Dead live because it's just too grotesque at times to view before bedtime.
Other than that and Castle, about the only thing I really want to watch is Sherlock and eventually Downton Abbey but I'm still stuck somewhere in season 2 or 3. Oh, and Big Bang Theory.
Mostly, I'm bored with TV and I want to go do something. Take a cooking class? Maybe ballroom dancing. Travel, definitely. My new work schedule makes it impossible to do anything in the evening. Currently exploring the old classics on Blu-ray. Just finished "An Affair to Remember".
Oh, look. I'm off topic...

We're looking forward to Castle, as is everyone here. I don't watch much on regular TV anymore, I seem to be more interested in shows on HGTV, TLC, The History Channel and A&E. I like to watch Pawn Stars, although I usually fast forward thru the "story" between the things that are brought in. Still laugh at Duck Dynasty but we have really gotten involved with Fixer Upper. I had to move to my own chair to watch it rather than sit beside my bride as she would whack me on the arm when the husband (Chip) does or says something and exclaims, "You'd do that!" or "Just like you!" with the occasional, "That poor woman, I know just what she's going through," with a laugh.
Aside from recording Castle I do like Lost Girl, despite some of the weird things that happened at the end of last season and into this. I'm looking forward to seeing the conclusion next year.
Mrs. G likes The Last Ship, and was heavily into Falling Skies and Under the Dome. Neither of which, despite being a SF junkie, I watched past the first episode. Within the first few minutes I could tell exactly what would happen in the episode, which I think I would have learned by know she doesn't appreciate. She also loves and records a lot of crime shows like CSI and NCIS.
As for the Muppet Show? Oh YES! I loved the original and can't wait to see the new one. I just wish Forever would be picked up by someone, it was such a great show.

I watch Castle and Sherlock on TV. On Netflix, I watched Chuck and an occasional movie on my computer. Other than that, I don't watch TV. Don't have time and don't much care for anything else that's on.

nathanfan1 It looks like The Muppets are on early (8pm ET) and Neil Patrick Harris is on later (10pm ET) so you should be able to watch both. RG I loved The Last Ship. Great show! And I too couldn't get past the first few episodes of Falling Skies and Under the Dome but my husband watched them all the way through.

Definitely looking forward to Castle but will watch via TVMuse. The only network TV show my husband and I faithfully watch together is NCIS, looking forward to how things evolve.
Otherwise I stream TV shows to the beat of a different drummer than most folks, I guess ...Longmire, Doc Martin, Broadchurch, Murdoch Mysteries, new Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle) series (not sure of title, but is based on the novel Caught by Lisa Moore), Motive, Rick Mercer Show...

Fjordmom I'm looking forward to NCIS as well. I've watched it from the beginning and it sounds as though they're going to shake things up a bit this season. My husband loves Longmire although I don't think he's had the chance to watch the new season on Netflix yet. And it's so funny you should mention Doc Martin. It's one of my father's favorites.

Can't wait to watch The Muppet Show although I'm heartbroken that Kermit and Piggy are no longer together. I'll also check out NPH's new show. Like NathanFan said, it looks like fun and different from the usual fare.
Other than Castle and Big Bang Theory, I really don't regularly make a point to watch anything although I seem to watch lots of shows, just as background noise I suppose. Sherlock is a MUST when it comes back.

Of the new shows The Muppets is the only one I am somewhat curious about.
Of the returning shows, the only ones I watch are Castle, Agents of Shield, Scorpion, Once Upon a Time, and Elementary

Thanks everyone for the replies.
I may check out The Muppets just to see if my favourite An-i-mal is in it. I don't remember much about the show but somewhere I believe I still have a video tape of Rita Moreno singing Fever with Animal on the drums. Smiling as I type. Also hope Swedish Chef & Beaker are in the new series.
Also a MUST is that final episode of CSI. I haven't bothered with the series since Grissom left and long before he hooked up with Sarah?? My hope against hope is that Grissom may go off with Heather. Ain't gonna happen but....
RG - I am totally lost with what my last season was with Lost Girl but loved that show. It seems to me that most fans think Bo will end up alone whilst others, myself included hopes that she ends up with Dyson. Totally agree about Forever that it had reached yet another interest point when it ended. Other sci-fi I absolutely loved and hope returns is Defiance. There was also Humans which I believe has a second season which was been a very interesting series indeed.
Fjordmom - love Murdoch. A gentle, 'park your brain at the door' and enjoy kind of show. I wonder when it ends if Julia actually finds herself pregnant and they have the son that Murdoch has often imagined.
PTVJ & Fjordmom - Would Doc Martin be that British series with Martin Clunes? If so, I think at some point in the new season Sigourney Weaver shows up!
