PTVJ - don't know if you already have it, but I've seen that the next Cormoran Strike Book 4 came out (in the UK at least) September 18th, titled: Lethal White. it made me wonder how soon the BBC will get down to filming... B

I am happy to report that the channels which I recently lost have been restored by my cable provider without notice I might add. I just happened to switch to the channel to see what was showing and to my delight, the channel had been restored! I was therefore able to see the penultimate episode of Carter - nothing worth noting - but I look forward to the finale as it features Jerry O'Connell's wife Rebecca Romijn and should delve into his character's missing mother.
Also if anyone ever gets the chance to watch Vera, which is a UK series, I humbly recommend it. I myself was very late to this series. It features an older female police officer, cantankerous, doesn't suffer fools, straight talker for whom solving the murder is the most important thing. Love it!
B I just recently caught an episode of Carter. I thought it was cute. I may have to go back and watch some more episodes.

ibmjas - I thought that Carter was one of those "just park your brain and enjoy the popcorn" kinda shows. More than background noise but nothing to really get excited about. That said, if it should get a 2nd season, I would probably watch it.

Anyone watching 'God Friended Me'? We watched it tonight and enjoyed it. I would definitely like to see more feel good shows and this seems to be a good one. We enjoyed 'Kevin Probably Saves the World' last year. It was pretty quirky and probably not for everyone. I think GFM will appeal to a lot more people.

I watched it too and really enjoyed it. I was a little leery going into it that it might be preachy but it wasn't at all. I can see now that it'll be a story of exploration and seeking answers. They sure set up some interesting story lines and I was taken totally by surprise when that cab door opened. What a great twist! I'm not familiar with any of the actors but I sure did like the lead and the gal who will seemingly be his partner. For me, the Sunday night time slot is perfect so I should be able to watch it every week.

My latest must watch series is A Discovery of Witches. Only 8 episodes and we have already reached episode 5! Happy to say that there will be a 2nd season. It is based on the books so hopefully they will complete with the third. I have the first one but have yet to read it.
Also The Gifted has just returned - yess!!

B I have the fourth book but just haven't had the chance to start it which is saying something about my life right now because I've been waiting on that book for two years!

I don't know if there are any Dr Who fans on this board. My doctor was back in the 70's an actor named Jon Pertwee who's son Sean is currently playing Alfred in Gotham.
Anyway, I never progressed to any of the other doctors until Peter Capaldi. I then tuned in out of curiosity to the latest incarnation in the form of Jodi Whittaker, the first actress to play the character. I find her extremely irritating and felt that they killed off the wrong character in her pilot episode.
All I wanted to say is that if anyone here got the opportunity to watch the third episode simply titled Rosa I would humbly suggest giving it a look. It is about Rosa Parks brilliantly played by Vinette Robinson. I have no idea how historically accurate the episode was but what an amazing woman! Vinette portrayed her as a hard working, very proud and dignified woman. I loved the way that the doctor and companions were in awe of this woman who didn't have a clue. What made it even more heart breaking was that in order for the event to happen they all had to stay on the bus and just allow Rosa to be taken off that bus. Emotional just writing this last part. It made me think that every school should be shown this episode just so that kids who feel they have it tough can see what it was like when it was written in law how someone could be treated just because of the color of their skin.
That said, I have stopped watching the series because it just doesn't feel like a sci-fi series despite how much I enjoyed the above episode.

Is anyone watching The Fix? I just saw the pilot and enjoyed it. Marc Blucas who was the amnesia guy on Castle in The Fifth Bullet is in it. He doesn't seem to have a big part so far. I don't know how they expect a show to catch on when it is just thrown on the schedule when no one is really expecting new shows.

The third episode is on tonight, and I agree that a lot of people don't even know that it exists. It's only ten episodes total and they say we will get answers about the murder in the end. As I remember when the OJ Simpson debacle occurred, I am enjoying this fictional twist on what could have happened next. I'm also a big fan of much of the cast which is why I offered to review the show. Robin Tunney (Teresa Lisbon on The Mentalist) plays Maya Travis. Scott Cohen (The Americans, Necessary Roughness) plays Ezra Wolf, and Marc Blucas (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Necessary Roughness, Killer Woman, and a guest spot on Castle) plays Riv on six of the ten episodes. ABC.com should have the episodes online. I hope more people find this show.

I lived thru the original trial. I was going to record this but then I decided I will stick with more positive shows so I'm not watching this. Sorry...

I just finished season one of Harrow. It was an interesting series. I wanted to finish it up before I cancelled my Hulu . They even gave me all of the extras you would have on a DVD. Behind the scenes, interviews with the actors and writers. It is also fun to see Australia as I recently visited the country. They left a good cliff hanger for next season. This is well written and might be worth looking if you have a Hulu subscription.

Tycho - I would love to read your thoughts about the characters and the situation that Harrow created for himself in order to protect his daughter. And thanks to your post, I checked imdb and discovered that there will indeed be a 2nd season and they had already given a brief on what that 1st episode will be. I am also curious as to whether the continuous story will be what happened to Harrow at the end of the 1st season.
I do have to say that my favorite pathologist is Megan Hunt, first two seasons only because I am probably completely wrong but I think that Alexi Hawley had a bigger say in that 3rd season and for me, destroyed the previous seasons just as happened with season 8 of our series.

My husband lost interest pretty quick. The way it ended it didn't seem to me like they intended to get a 2nd season which is fine since they didn't.
