I never get to comment because I'm always so far behind in viewing the episodes. I'm finally caught up now. I was really hoping William would last past the first season. I really liked his character but realize he can return in flashbacks. He was such a wonderful influence on everyone he met. I think Randall will have a new purpose and a new calmness in his life but adopting a baby? Where did that come from? It's a shame he wasnt in Randall's life sooner. I'm having trouble forgiving Rebecca for that one.
From all the comments I saw, I was sure we were going to see Jacks death. I was disappointed in their argument. Sure it was her big shot to do something fulfilling for herself but I thought it was selfish of her to leave her family to go on the road. It's not like Jack has a job that he loves. His dreams were put on hold for his family's sake and he makes them his priority. I think it really hurts him that Rebecca isn't fulfilled by their family. I'm afraid I was on Jacks side in the argument. It seems like he always knows the right thing to say. I can't imagine the void that his death made in their lives.
This is the one show we really loved this season. So many others were duds.

I just read that This Is Us is moving to Thursday (9 p.m. ET/PT) and NBC will air it after the Superbowl Feb. 4.

Other networks have aired episodes of popular shows after important playoff games, so NBC is smart to take advantage of a large audience. Sorry for the confusion.  |

Hey ibmjas, I just finally caught up on This Is Us too! I loved William and the episode where he passed away is possibly my favorite of the season. Randall and Beth are just amazing, and as Randall was adopted and he just lost his biological father, I can see why adopting might have special meaning for him. I really enjoyed Kevin and Sophie much more than I thought I would, and I’m hoping they have a future together. As for Jack and Rebecca, I loved their argument because it was so very real. They’ve both made a lot of sacrifices for the sake of their family and it’s easy to lose yourself in all of it. Now that the kids are/were teenagers, they need Rebecca less and she’s left wondering what her life will be when they leave, and she's reminded of what she wanted before they came along. Although I did think that going off on a six week tour was a bit much. I have no doubt they’ll work through this…if Jack doesn’t die first! NBC also said in their Upfronts presentation that the show will most likely get a special Christmas episode this year…so be sure to stock up on Kleenex for the holidays! |

Glad you got caught up! Have you heard if this coming season will also be 18 episodes? I'd love to think we could get more but they seem to know that they've got a gem and can hold their audience, even over long hiatuses.

I read a short blurb about season 2 the other day and it said that over the course of season 2, we should have all of our questions about Jack's death answered. It also said that in the premier, we'd get a big piece of that mystery. It said that the premier will start a couple of months after the finale ended in real time and that the past story line would pick up the day after Jack and Rebecca separated. We will for sure see Randall's dad again, even though he's dead, and Randall and his wife are still pursuing adoption. Kate is pursuing a singing career and Kevin is trying to work out his movie (which will feature a guest appearance from Arnold Schwarzenager) as well as keep the new relationship with his ex-wife going. I believe it premiers the last week in September. WooHoo!

I just saw a peek at season 2 with Randall asking his Mom how they decided to adopt him. This is an amazing scene. I can't believe they put the whole scene as a sneak this early.
Yup, get the tissues ready. They are back to their old tear jerker scenes for season 2.

tycho657, I haven't found that video yet, but this one is pretty darn cool. FYI...despite what it says at the end of this video, they've moved This Is Us back to Tuesday nights.
