Tonight's Fall Final " Last Christmas" was directed by Helen Hunt. If you look her up on imdb you will recognize her. She has been in a lot of movies over the years. With that tital I think I will make sure the Kleenex is close at hand tonight. I was looking at the ratings for this show and it looks like it has been gaining fans as the year progresses. They have already renewed the show I think?
...can you tell I was bored today and so I did a little web searching for all things "This is us"?

Thanks, Tycho, for all of those great interviews! With the commitment these actors have to their roles, it's no surprise that they manage to touch our every week. The hardest thing for me to read was Mandy Moore's hints about a heartbreaking breakup between Jack and Rebecca. It sounds weird but I'd hoped that Jack just died and Miguel was there to support Rebecca. It'll be like being pulled through a knothole to see their marriage crumble. I am definitely ready with the tissues for tonight! I have no doubt that it'll be an emotional ride.

I thought it was a wonderful holiday themed episode! As they manage to do every week, they tied the past and the present so beautifully. It was great to see the whole present day family together at the end and all at peace with one another.
Tonight's big twist with William is not entirely surprising to me. I was so happy that he brought his 'friend' with him to Randall's, but it'll be interesting to see if the guy remains in William's life from now to the end.
Randall did a wonderful job of talking his coworker off the ledge and I'm sure it put a lot of things in perspective for him too.
I was so happy with Toby's return and I truly was surprised by it. Of course, at the end of the show I was quoting Rebecca - "Nothing bad ever happens on Christmas Eve." Surely Toby will survive!!!!!
I was also happy that the doc survived. I love his character and hope that we see him again.
Just the right combination of drama, comedy and heart!

@nathanfan I was happy to see Toby return also. I did look at imdb and his character is still in the next 2 episodes so it looks like he lives.maybe this will be the wake up call for both of them to lose more weight? Easier said than done...
Once again a great job writing the one with the timeline. I think Gerald should get an Emmy for his guest spots. They have been wonderful scenes done so well.
I am looking forward to the return in January.

I know you said it earlier, Tycho, but I have to repeat! The actors on this show are so totally into their characters! I think that level of commitment has a lot to do with how relatable they are on screen. These people and the problems and emotions in their lives are so real. It's a wonderful show.
I love the discussions after the episodes and these extra interviews have been great. I suppose it's their way of building an audience this first season and I think it's working well.

This is Us returns Tuesday, Jan 10th at 10 east/9 central. If you haven't taken the time to catch up now is your chance. You can catch all of the episodes on NBC. There is also a great table talk link where the actors discuss the episodes. They have put them all on one link. Here is the link I think? www.nbc.com/this-is-us/video/this-is-us-aftershow-episodes-110/3445528I hope you give this show a chance if you haven't seen it yet.

It looks like USA network is showing a This Is Us marathon today. It starts at 1pm ET time and runs into this evening. If you've missed any of the first ten episodes or simply want to rewatch before it comes back this week, this looks like a good day to catch up.

I was glad to have the show back and enjoyed the episode but I kind of wonder why we got so much back story on Rebecca and Jack preparing for the coming of the triplets. Once again, they portray Jack as an incredible husband, even swallowing his pride to go to his father for money to get the house. I also wonder if we'll ever see a flaw in his character. I still shake my head at Kevin. He's a work in progress, to be sure, but getting easier to like. Randall delights me every time! His range of emotions and how quickly he can switch from one to another, is fantastic. I like the way Toby's health issue turned out. The actor did a great job with the scene as they were ready to take him to surgery. I wonder how much of that was ad libbed. I'm thrilled that he and Kate expressed their love for one another but there's no doubt in my mind that there'll be ups and downs as they try to move towards a commitment. Lastly, the preview for next week also had me wondering why we're covering ground that we've already covered. Guess I'll just have to wait and see!
