Forgot about the viewing party but watched after you guys were finished ... I will be watching episodes via internet site, so it was interesting to read the commentary portions that were on the DVD, and, of course, all your comments. I was amazed by how many classic and funny lines there were in the first ep. It was just so wonderful to see the show and characters that were so very amazing back then and no wonder that we all fell in love with them!!!! Thanks for the viewing party, ProudTVJunkie ...and for all those who participated.

I have just a couple of other comments about the pilot. In the commentary, they point out the very different looking precincts from the initial filming in NY to the permanent set in LA. I remember not even noticing there was a difference until much later! I was so totally captivated by the characters that I hadn't a clue. Another thing I distinctly remember is watching the scene near the end where Castle is busy typing away now that he's inspired and I said to my husband, "I bet they're going to end each episode with him typing something." Then, much to my delight, the story continues with Castle showing up at Montgomery's office all smug and cocky while Kate is horrified that she has to have him shadowing her indefinitely. That ending was the icing on the cake for me! I know I've said it many times, as have many of you also. NEVER has a single episode of TV had such an incredible influence on my life!!!!!!

I'm just going to stick my 2 cents worth in after the party as I enjoy watching and replaying all my favorite parts. I always remember my first impression of the pilot being, "WOW, I really like this show!" Nothing could ever change my mind til after S6E23. I was always amazed at the wonderful chemistry of the cast and the wonderful acting during those 6 seasons. 4 of my very favorite things from that episode were:
1. I loved Javi's remark to Kate, "A control freak like you with something you can't Control? This is going to be better than Shark Week!!" What a great line. 2. The scene where Rick told Kate her story. What a wonderful scene with GREAT acting on both their parts. 3. The interplay between Lanie and Kate by the pool with no words being said. 4. The end when Kate whispered in Rick's ear, "You have no idea". When she walked away with "that" walk, Rick Castle was gobsmacked. All I kept thinking was, "OH MY, is this going to be a LOT of fun"!!!
