Just curious as I sit here watching Tampa Bay vs Montreal...any hockey fans around here?
I'm a New York Rangers fan and was thrilled with last night's win. I also find myself rooting for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

I also find myself rooting for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Well.....I am a Caps fan......and of course always have room for the Red Wings. I kinda go to most of the Caps games. It's hard now, but should be there tomorrow night. I wouldn't miss it for the world. The NHL Playoffs are in a class by themselves. It rocks.

So it looks as though we're on opposite sides in the Caps/Rangers battle but I completely agree that the NHL playoffs are awesome. This is the only sport where literally every second counts. You can never leave a hockey game early. You never know what might happen.

Maybe opposite ends where it comes to team allegiance, but we know good hockey when we see it. NHL fans are the best. And the stories surrounding some of the fans are incredible. There is a guy named Johnnie, who is a little slow mentally, but is loved throughout the entire Verizon Centre family. Everyone knows him and he loves the Caps. He cries after every goal and the players all know him and go out of their way to talk to him when they see him. It's a great story and he is a great kid. And his love for the game and his team typify the playoffs. I see him at a local coffee establishment on weekends or at games and he loves to talk hockey. And OH is he passionate. In this day of snobs and primadonnas, it is great to talk to someone who is so genuine. There is also one gentleman who can only lead cheers for the entire arena from his seat. You can hear him clear as a bell chanting "Let's Go Caps" and boy does he get the crowd going. The Ranger fans are awesome as well. So passionate and they can change the momentum of game when they get going.
And what sets Hockey apart is the players. They are are the best when it comes to interviews, they don't duck away from anyone and they love to talk to anyone about Hockey and their teams. Their stories are great and they have such passion for the game and the fans. It truly is a love affair in their respective towns. THEY ALWAYS HAVE TIME FOR THE FANS AND MEDIA. Especially in the playoffs. So there is this awesome respect for the game from both fans and players alike and at the end of each playoff game when both teams are shaking hands at center ice, you still get goosebumps for a job and a game and an effort well done. Love it.

Just because they are the only Canadian team left, I'm rooting for the Canadiens.
I will watch hockey occasionally. I'd like to root on the Blackhawks in the Ducks vs Hawks playoff.
NYR should win against the 'Capitals

I also find myself rooting for the Tampa Bay Lightning. I have to say thumbs down on Tampa Bay, since they beat the Wings. I don't have cable so I don't get to see a lot of games, but I have been following the playoffs and keeping up with the second round match-ups. Don't really have a favorite team left to root for. I do recall that a lot of the pre-playoff chatter and opinions seemed to be favoring the Rangers. I really thought they were out when the Caps took a 3-1 series lead but they've managed to come back and force the game 7.

I would like to add that I'm usually more in tune with the IIHF Hockey (International Ice Hockey Federation) events than regular NHL stuff.
Or I will be watching the local hockey league play.

So the Western Conference has the Blackhawks vs the Ducks and now the Tampa Bay Lightning have made it to the Eastern Conference. Now we wait to see who they're up against...the Caps or the Rangers. Can't wait to see how it all plays out.

Sorry for your Caps kman but thrilled for my Rangers and no one can say that wasn't a completely awesome game! Now I have to hope my Rangers beat my second favorite team the Tampa Bay Lightning and make it all the way to the Stanley Cup. Fingers crossed...

The Rangers got killed by Tampa Bay the other night. As Tampa Bay is my second favorite team it's both great and hard to watch. Still, some amazing hockey was played so we can't go wrong there.

The mascot, Howler Coyote, for the Phoenix Coyotes will be in the Kids Need to Read booth next weekend for the Phoenix ComicCon. They tell me this is a big deal? I have planned on watching a hockey game but have not made it to one yet...

How many of these playoff games have gone into overtime? I'm not even a fan of Anaheim or Chicago but here I am watching this intense game go into overtime. You know it must be good because I really want to go to sleep!

I am from Pittsburgh, PA so naturally I am a Pittsburgh Penguins fan. We have been out of the playoffs for a while but I totally agree the playoffs are awesome to watch. I am still watching them and they have been unbelievable!!
