It's National Sibling Day!

When did they come up with this holiday? It's a new one on me... but in honor of it I thought I'd share some news.

My sister is having a baby! She's due this September and I'm thrilled to finally be an aunt and that my daughter will have a cousin. Also, we just found it that it's a little girl. I'm so excited.



Anyone else have sibling stories they'd like to share?

I am the oldest of 12 children, four girls and eight boys. In the group of 12 we have a teacher, artist, truck driver, a few farmers, a missionary, and 4 small business owners (construction/carpentry, doula, antique dealer, and recording studio). We live scattered all over the place (Minnesota, Mongolia, Michigan, Washington DC, and Virginia). Our parents are both gone and now it's just us. I'm so very proud of each and every one of them.

On my family's side, I have 23 nieces and 15 nephews for a total of 38 (with another to be born any day now). My girls have 33 cousins. It's a blast when they're all together. Mom and Dad would be so proud of all of them.
