It's been a while since I jumped on one so I'm going to hog this one!
Season 6, episode 15, Smells Like Teen Spirit.
They were dancing at the high school Castle attended his senior year, just after they nailed one of the students for murder.
Kate skipped her prom to go to a poetry slam and Castle was expelled right before his prom for and incident involving getting a cow up in a high place.
Castle told Kate he didn't regret anything that had happened to him - good or bad - because it all led him right there to that moment with her. sigh .........
This is also when they found 'their' song - You're In My Veins.

We never really get much of Castle's backstory and we found out a lot with this one. |
