We don't get to actually see words that Richard Castle has written for his books very often. This was a wonderful example of a draft he later changed when the book was released. www.jigsawplanet.com/?rc=play&pid=3b7bcaeca4a0Season, Episode and title Bonus questions: 1. Who was this character he created? 2. Why did he make him out to be so "lame"? 3. Who was acting as his personal editor for this book? 4. What characters has Castle said he would write a character for in a future novel (s)? Did he ever really do that?

You know, hindsight is a lot more fun than real time sometimes! During the Demming arc, I hated what was happening and now I can watch and find it all entertaining, knowing that Caskett survives and flourishes.
This is from Season 2, episode 23, Overkill.
It was the opening scene at the loft as Alexis has been editing the latest chapter in Castle's new book (which he's behind on). She makes a spelling correction and then asks Castle about this new character - Robbery Detective Schlemming. She says he seems to have appeared out of nowhere (which Castle agrees to) and she says he comes across as a "doofus." Her advice is to lose him and Castle mutters, "If only it was that easy," as he scratches out his name on the paper.
1. Robbery Detective Schlemming 2. Castle was totally jealous that Demming was dating Kate, despite Castle telling Demming there was nothing between he and Kate, essentially giving Demming the freedom to pursue her. 3. Alexis was the editor.
4, I need HELP on this one! I remember the guy at the storage locker auction. Kate promised him that Castle would name a character after his mother. I know there was at least one more a lot more recently but I really can't remember the situation. I think it was in season 7 though. If there were any more than those 2, I don't recall them.

Question 4: Eunice (Big Percy's mother) from season 5 "Secret's Safe with Me" I think there was talk that Castle would put Beckett's boss Villante from the AG arc in a book. (Although Villante suggested it and Castle agreed to it)
Not sure if there are any others myself besides those two

I had an Aunt Eunice so I remembered the name and looked for it in the next book. I thought Rick mentioned putting someone in his latest book but I can't remember where?

I think Tefla's right. It was the Russian guy this season. I'd like an excuse to go back and watch that episode so I'll check it out.

Villante was season 6 ep 2 (Dreamworld) Vasiliy, the Russian dude from "Dead Red" was more keen on giving Castle ideas for the title of a new Nikki Heat book (Heat and Ice) Ice being the codename for Nikki's new nemesis (so maybe a char) tycho657 - Can't remember if there is one this season.
