I was thrilled today to hear on Good Morning American that Sea World has finally decided to stop the Orca shows and also to no longer do captive breeding at their parks. The movie "Blackfish" opened up eyes to what has been happening for years at their parks. I grew up watching the wild orca pods roam Puget Sound. I marveled at these amazing creatures and was horrified when I saw them being captured and killed so that Sea World could capture some for their parks. The public outcry, protests and major drop in attendance lead to this happening today. I hope they will allow Mothers to reunite with their babies to live out the remainder of their captive lives as a family. They interviewed the new head of Sea World and the head of the Humane Society together as they are now working together to help orcas. Wonderful news!
