I thought Castle's accent was funny. It wasn't a very good one, but he was trying his best. I really liked the scarf.
The fact that he can find out the person who wrote the text by using syntax and grammar is a great skill he possesses. Glad it gives him an reason to still help the NYPD solve cases.
I was OK with them not spending a lot of time with the victim and the snakes. I don't like snakes.
I don't mind the PI arc as much as you do. I realize it takes away from Caskett working together, but think about this. Castle got really used to helping the NYPD. He kept at it because he saw how it made a difference. To not be able to do that because Kate's now a captain must have left him spinning his wheels. I'm guessing that he started the PI thing because he 1) liked helping people and making a difference, and 2) it would give him ideas for his stories. We all know how much he likes the odd, weird, and exciting cases. Besides, it would be really boring to watch him sit behind a desk and write unless we could hear his stream of consciousness. That could be fun.
I'm not a fan of Vikram, but you said he kept popping up for no particular purpose. He did and does have a purpose. He was hired to replace Tori. He is a tech guy. He does have a legitimate job with the NYPD. Unfortunately, he hasn't won any favors with viewers because of his connection to LockSat.
Loved seeing Perlmutter again. Him trying to set Kate up with his brother was a hoot. I do wish we could know why he has such hatred for Castle. There's something there we've never gotten the real story on.
Hubby caught on to the flashback thing before I did. I am totally OK with revisiting this story because it's never been satisfactorily solved for me. I want a reasonable, logical explanation for what happened and so far, we haven't gotten one. I'm hoping this next episode puts the whole thing to rest in a way that makes sense.
Keep up the good work!

I do enjoy reading your point of view, Christine. It's light-hearted while also keeping a finger on the issues that continue with the season 8 plot issues.
If they can keep finding a way for Castle P.I. to continue to "consult" with the NYPD, I don't have a problem with that particular story plot.
I can't make up my mind about Vikram. Not sure what happened with the actress that played Tory, as I really liked her character. CL66 is probably correct about a lot of people's attitude toward Vikram; he's part of the despised Loksat story, so that taints the character a lot for the audience.
I enjoyed many of the same points in the story, with Castle's involvement in the ESL class and how they worked to trip up the FBI, and the party at Castle's loft at the end. Overall, I thought this was another great episode, and hopefully another step closer to getting our show back.
