I found this to be one of the most intriguing Castle episodes I've seen in a long time. The hour flew by and even though I realized that Rick and Kate weren't actually sharing scenes, it didn't feel nearly as jarring as in past episodes this season. Here's my full review... www.tvfanatic.com/2016/02/castle-season-8-episode-12-review-the-blame-game/Please let me know what you think. I love getting your feedback. Thanks.

I think it's clear that Alexis has pulled back to part time at college to explore what she really wants to do with her life.(according to her conversation with Rick at the end of season 7) She is not the first College student to do this, nor is she first to help out out in the "family business" while she does it. Her working with her father is one of the few bright spots this season in my opinion.
To be honest, having somebody very visibly in Castle's corner after all of the crap he's been taking this season, (especially after episode 9) was refreshing, given how little support he's been getting up to this moment. It was nice to see Hayley's unflinching support of Castle too.
That being said, though I found a lot of the early puzzles they had to solve were rather predictable it did not take away from my enjoyment of it. It was the first episode I've watched live since episode 2. Why couldn't we have gotten this from the beginning?

Again, I agree with everything you said. It was nice, for a change, to see a serious Castle trying to solve this puzzle. In the first season, that goofiness worked, but now he's matured, and he should behave as such. I also thought this was an intriguing episode and couldn't believe how quick the time went. With that said, it did seem a little rushed at the end, especially when Brandon was explaining everything in 2 minutes. You were right...didn't even notice that Kate and Rick weren't together til the end! Since you mentioned it I'll make a comment....I also was wondering if Brandon knew about Kate and Rick, I'm sure whoever LokSat is also knows! Oh well, it was a nice episode without that business hanging over the show. This episode definitely kept my interest.

I loved your review, thought you were spot on and have to say that was the fastest hour this season hope it continues.

I liked your review, PTVJ, but I was surprised at the mixed reaction in the comments. Someone mentioned that they didn't feel anything and I thought the tension was front and center. To each his own but I'm in agreement with what you said.

Nicely done, Christine. What a great COTW. We were enthralled throughout and the hour just flew by. Like you, we felt horrified by what the parents did to Brandon and his sister. It doesn't excuse the murders but oh my. We loved the strength of Caskett and how Kate would not leave Rick when she had the chance. You never felt, in this episode, that Rick and Kate were a p a r t like we felt in many of the earlier episodes this year. I really liked it.
