Last week Kate gave Castle her full support to continue his PI pursuits. Let's see how their cases end up entwining again this week. Hopefully, the fun and sexy will still be plentiful.
Please come back and share your thoughts after the show!
I'm so ready for the team to reunite!!! Great show but...
"Castle PRIVATE eye" just isn't the same as "Castle and Beckett". And...........I've already seen "The Blue Butterfly". Loved it but lets get our DD back to being joined at the hip.The way we love them.
Coitus interruptus yet again!!!!!! They are killing me here.
Well, I definitely enjoyed the show but already, the newness is wearing off. In the next episode, I don't want to start with another morning at the loft talking about Castle's new job and I'm also hoping we've heard the last of the Blue Butterfly dialogue. I've loved it both times but a third time would be wearing out the welcome for me. Perlmutter has also been a hoot but it's time for Lanie to come back. This time he was certainly VERY full of himself and substituted being condescending to Ryan and Espo for Castle. He does seem to like Kate though.
All of that being said, there were a lot of fun scenes and the case was twisty enough to keep me interested. I liked the 'B' story line of Espo being such a fan of the Hispanic soap. That's good continuity because he talked about watching this kind of show with his grandma in an earlier show a couple of seasons ago. It was fitting that he got caught red handed at the end when he had to admit that the autograph was for him. Ryan continues to try to take Castle's place with wild theories but he just can't quite pull it off.
Fun little scenes I liked included a bored Castle throwing pencils at the ceiling and then one dropping down just when he needed it. I also liked Ryan and Espo demanding repayment for rescuing Castle and not letting him leave until he ordered their tickets. The scene where Castle comes home late and Kate's in bed was funny too, just because of how adorable Nathan was trying to get the favor out of her. In fact, Nathan had several funny expression moments like in the Ladies' Room at the Opera House and when Espo told him the gun that had been pointed at him was a prop.
My favorite scene was at Castle's office when he and Kate fell into the role playing and she delivers that MOST unforgettable line, "I'm looking for a private dick." That one was worthy of a spit-take! And I LOVED Stana's little giggle as he grabbed her! Those 2 can be so HOT together!
I do like seeing Castle be effective as an investigator and felt a definite moment of triumph along with him when he disarmed the actress and brought her into the precinct. It's refreshing to see him capable and making significant contributions. The preview made it sound like things might be a bit more dramatic next week and I hope it brings this arc to a close, not because I haven't enjoyed it, but because it will no longer be fresh and fun to watch he and Kate working apart and just bumping into each other when their parallel investigations cross.
It's time to change the direction of this journey....enough already...Kate looks worn out and Rick needs to remember he is a writer. It seems to me that Kate feels like she must be his protector....He has put on his big boy pants,so let him see.what the life is all about. She clearly wants him where she can see him and wants him to check in...and we know that just is not.possible...
Another week.like this and people are going to start to get antsy. IMHO...not one of their best shows.
Either bring him back to the 12tb or bring the 12th to Castle Investigations.
And would it hurt to let them have some fun at the office? Ay Carumba Indeed !
I liked this episode. Love Espo's fangirl moments over the TV show and actress. I enjoy Castle's narrating and 40s PI dialogue. It gives a little bit of insight into his writing and where he's going with his next set of books. I loved the makeout scene at the office. Like that Kate referred a little business to Castle. I'm not getting angsty about this. There's obviously a plan and I'm along for the ride.
This was written by Adam Frost. He is one of their newer writers. He is getting better with each episode. For some reason it just doesn't quite snap like other episodes.
I loved the pencil gags. I wonder how many takes it took to drop the pencil and have it bounce right into Nathan's hand. I wonder if Nathan had experience throwing pencils up to the ceiling and getting them to stick in his earlier life I loved the office play. we knew they would be interrupted this is Castle. Still fun to see. I saw a tweet from Terri, that I assume was during this scene, where she said "It's so embarrassing when people catch husband and wife kissing at the office. Right @andrewwmarlowe". So I wonder if people have interrupted them like Caskett?
I enjoy episodes where I don't see the killer at the 5 minute mark but have to unravel who he is during the episode. Nice twists and turns with the plot.
I am like others in that I have totally enjoyed the P.I. story line but I am also ready to get the team back together. I think we might see Kate working with Castle next week finally helping him solve a case. That could be a nice twist to the PI story line?
Wow, they destroyed the Perlmutter character. I don't ever recall him being disrespectful to anyone but Castle but last night he went too far. I've had enough of his constant mockery of Beckett for marrying "The Writer" and Kevin should have turned to Javi and said, "Deck him." After 7 years, it should be quite obvious how instrumental Castle is to the 12th and I would have written off Perlmutter's grumblings as a personality clash if they were quiet and only directed at Castle. To mock the others smacks of mutiny. Love Perlmutter but hated him last night.
I had fun with the funny moments even though this was a weak episode. Getting caught was funny although it was obvious the client would walk in since we never saw Rick call with an update. So far worse season of the series with a hideous amnesia arc.

Well, despite what I said last week, I've changed my mind...NO, I don't want any more PI ... last night's episode was a letdown...it's like the writers are throwing ideas into a paper bag and pulling them out one by one...let's sprinkle a little of this in, OK a little of that, let's have Kate and Rick in a sizzle scene, but make sure you throw water on it. Can't Kate and Rick have a romantic scene without its being some sort of role play? I'm not asking for a sex scene, just two adults who care for each other deeply and actually show it THROUGHOUT their daily lives, without it being some sort of caricature and WITHOUT BEING INTERRUPTED....
And I love Perlmutter but he was NASTY last night...even Kevin and Javi were annoying...and Kate, quit coddling Rick...
... sorry, it's frustrating to watch this show sometimes.

Yanno, I stop and ask myself why I'm having such strong reactions about my beloved show since last season's finale. That about put me over the edge, and was a game-changer for me.
So, I have come to a conclusion. It's because I care. And have been a faithful, loyal, glass-half-full fan. And those of us who have waited so long for them to be a married couple were sucker-punched in the finale when we thought the wedding was going to go down. Then, we get a ridiculous episode for the finale to boot.
We come back to a ridiculous amnesia arc, and a wedding that wasn't what I had dreamed or hoped for, because I feel TPTB felt they better give it to us already. And I was ready for it to happen. Just do it already. Whatever. I was past the point of exuberance. Missed opportunity. And a lesson in expectations for me.
I'm now starting to react very strongly to the messing around, or lack-there-of, when it comes to just letting the newlyweds have "a moment". UNINTERRUPTED FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! SERIOUSLY? It's no longer cute, or funny, and I don't care if it's "Castle fashion". I'm just tired of it. If they wanted to end their fun, I would've preferred they just go to commercial.
I want my Castle back. Even Beckett had to get him the case. He's good enough to have gotten himself a case. It's interesting to know this PI set is permanent, because I sure hope against all hope, that the next episode will be the last PI episode. I loved last week's episode, but this mediocre one blew out my light of hope.
Maybe I don't love Perlmutter so much. Where is Tamala, I wonder....
Miss my Classic Castle. Ready to move on. This episode was one of my least favorites.
And, I think they made a mistake giving us the best part of the episode as the sneak. Maybe the Sprees are on to something after all.
I have high expectations, because I know they can do better.
Group hugs all around. It will be OK. The next episode and I think they will be back together at the precinct. We have a rooky writer teaming with a seasoned writer next week. Positive thoughts...

Some Castle fans here and elsewhere do want too much. Accept what the producers and the writers come up with. That's life. Acceptance. And if you don't like it go then. Sometimes I think reading some comments: "Have they seen the same episode as me?" And do they understand that the next two or more episodes are already ready.....
I can't believe that I am in the minority this time. I really liked the show. It may not have been my all time favorite but I like the arc and love Rick's office and the throw back to film noir. I like to see them do things that are different and show that the show is still fun to watch. I just enjoy what they give us every week. I have enough pain and angst in my life that I look for the good things and enjoy escaping into their world for a short time. Even the worst episode is better than most other shows on tv.

Agree catluver. Best show on TV. Always!
`A couple of things I wanted to comment on:
Couldn't they have found a building in LA that at least somewhat resembles Lincoln Center? This was the second recent episode where they've had an opera in NYC at a regular theater.
Kate's blue shirt being buttoned all the way up bugged me. It always does when the costume people do that, since it isn't how women wear man tailored shirts unless they are also wearing a tie. I don't mean she shouldn't have most of the buttons buttoned, this is work clothing, just not the collar. But this time at least it provided buttons for Rick to fumble with in the office make out scene.
