Little did I know the slap would be the least problematic thing about this episode.
Still trying to find the "fun" here. Castle's reputation takes another hit and everyone sides with Kate. How is this supposed to be better again?
Not impressed, Showrunners, not impressed at all. I liked Castle PI better than this.

I might be the only one here who wasn't as troubled with the way they hid the separation this episode. They both knew it was a play act so they could be together. They know they have to be with each other now so if that means giving out false dates to their friends so be it. You know they are having fun with this when they even embrace the fake people they are dating when they meet up castle had the stethoscope and Beckett announces her self as the Russian model. The boys will be fine when they learn the truth. I am going to just relax and go with this as it is what it is and if I want to continue I know it will all be fine in the end.

Sent from my SM-N910V using proboards I admit, this situation would bother me much less if it wasn't Castle being the one continuously slapped, pushed around and otherwise thrown under the bus as if suddenly he's the one responsible for their split. Something tells me If Castle had slapped Beckett under these same circumstances we would be having a completely different conversation

Shutterbug, I was bristling big time last night when it appeared the dating thing would all be on Castle and, like you, felt he was being thrown under the bus. What changed for me however, was when Kate also created a fake date and the two of them seemed quite OK with their parallel stories. If they can take it lightly, I guess I can too.

After the year we have had with this show, I really liked this episode. We thought it was the best of the year. We had Rick and Kate as they haven't been all year. They bounced a little theory off each other which we enjoyed. The chemistry was there. The show will never be as it was before now that Kate is a Captain but they seem to be giving us what they can. Maybe, I'm just really desperate, but I enjoyed this episode a LOT and hope the show progresses from here. JMO

Like you said geezer, after how the season started it was getting to the point of me not watching live. However, after this one episode it got me making popcorn once more. Which I stopped doing after 6x23. The cheating I can deal with, since they are not actually cheating with other people. Yes, they will have their family and friends thinking the opposite. But it all boils down to Castle and Beckett is together. I would think when this matter is resolved that their family and friends would understand why it had to be this way. Why they couldn't let them in on what was going on. When you decided to do somthing like what Castle and Beckett is trying to do, less people whose invovled in the scheme more succesfuly the outcome.

Unfortunately, I agree with you, Christine. Having read such good previews, mentioning how fun this episode was, I guess my expectations were too high and I ended up disappointed. I didn't find this episode fun at all. Maybe when I watch it this weekend on TV here, with subtitles, I'll get the jokes and find it funnier.
