Compared to some of the mentioned shows, Castle holds it own and it's DVR is great. Why wouldn't they consider moving it to another night if they ever got their SHI........T together. This really doesn't have to be the end of the line. The problem is they used the term "erosion" and to be fair, this is an "eroded" show. But for as bad as it's been and the awful storyline ....it still shows that people are loyal, at least to a certain extent. They have been waiting to get their show back and if they can progress and recapture some of the magic, why not give this a second chance? I for one, would hate to see it end this way. It's sad. I wonder if any of the cast has felt like they wanted to put their fist through the wall, because it feels like sabotage to me. Can't they see their show is on it's last legs? Just swallow your pride and fix the damn thing. It's OK to be wrong, just hone up to it and make it better. Stop talking about "Fun" and sharing your "Vision" because if you get Rick and Kate back on track, you can save the show. We really could have a wonderful last 10 shows if they mopped up this mess in the first four.

It really is all a guessing game. Ratings are down but ratings are down for all of the Monday night shows on every network. Unfortunately, Castle is coming in third in its time slot which has never happened before. DVR and online numbers will be taken into account plus a lot of things none of us will ever be privy to like contract negotiations, licensing fees, ad rates, etc., etc.
I truly hope Castle gets a season 9 and new showrunners. I also hope that this season turns itself around. All we can do is keep watching and hope!
