Castle Season 8 here we come.I am   Both Stana and Nathan signed a new contracts. We are coming back Is there a away to scream on this board.  Castle The procedural starring Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic will be back for its eighth season after the duo both inked new deals to return. Produced in-house by ABC Studios, Castle has been a sturdy performer for ABC on Mondays at 10 p.m. and still pulls 12.7 million viewers on a weekly basis. Rumors about the future of the series have swirled of late, with sources telling THR that the veteran drama from Andrew Marlowe could return for an abbreviated final season. While it's unclear if season eight will be Castle's last one thing is certain: showrunner David Amann, who took over for Marlowe in season seven, has exited. Procedural vet Barry Schindel (CAA), who returns to the drama after a brief run in 2009 and whose credits include Numbers, Intelligence, Unforgettable and Law & Order, will replace Amann and take over as showrunner. |

Yes! Leave it to ABC to wait until I was off the computer to make the announcement. They have renewed Castle for season 8! Here is the announcement at TVLine... tvline.com/2015/05/07/abc-renewals-2015-castle-nashville/Also, Once Upon a Time, Nashville, Marvel's Agent Carter, Secrets and Lies, black-ish, Fresh Off the Boat, How to Get Away With Murder, American Crime, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Galavant, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, The Goldbergs, Modern Family and The Middle were all also renewed. Unfortunately, Forever, Cristela and Resurreciton were canceled. |

This is just what I needed after the last two days of stress and home issues! I needed some good news! Everyone here is sleeping or I'd be yelling happy thoughts and dancing in my living room...lol

I feel awful for fans of Forever. I'd heard a lot of good things about that show. But as a Castle fan...I can go to sleep feeling as though all is right with the world.  |

There is a tv guy online that is adamant that someone followed up with ABC and Stana has signed. We will see. TV Wise also has Barry Schindel as the new show runner with AWM still involved. Schindel worked Season 1 of Castle. He wrote Nanny McDead and has a story credit for A Death in the Family. Most recently he was the show runner on Intelligence. They also say Stana has signed. The Hollywood Reporter originally had the same info, but the article now says that Stana is expected to sign shortly and no longer mentions Barry Schindel. As for Stana, my guess is the ink is not on the contract yet, but the agreement is done. She is currently in Jordan filming a movie. |

I almost always check the computer before I go to bed and last night I was so tired that I skipped it. Wouldn't you know! I would have had a hard time sleeping though, so maybe it was for the best. I've had faith in a season 8 all along, though sometimes my faith was stronger than others, but I am beyond THRILLED to have it confirmed, especially before watching the finale on Monday. I think there are going to be some very special moments that they wrote in for the long time fans like us, just in case it ended up being the end. Now, I can enjoy the sweetness of those scenes and know that there's a lot more story to tell. I'm not sure how I feel about the new show runner choice. Of course, we'll have to see, but it sounds like he's heavy into the procedural aspect, when I look at what he's been doing the past 5 years. If anything, I was hoping we might get someone willing to do a little more romance. I do like the idea of Andrew Marlowe at least maintaining some connection with the show because it was always his story and his vision. I'd hate to see the show do a 180 in any direction. Subtle changes can be very healthy and positive so let's hope the fresh blood energizes everyone and draws even more viewers next season! MY HEART IS SINGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

TVLINE is now saying that Stana hasn't signed. Twitter is crazy with people saying that others in the cast might be recast! Why is it that our fandom is the only one freakin out! Every other fandom is excited and celebrating. I can't find anything official on the rumors anywhere, other than TVLINE. What's everyone's take on this? ABC wouldn't pull a stunt like that would they? Wouldn't make sense?

My guess is that there was no need to bother with the other contracts until they were sure they had Nathan and Stana on board because without them both there is no show. Now that they've both signed (or Stana will shortly) and we have an official season 8, they will be working out the contracts with the other actors. Of course anything can happen in contract negotiations but I really don't see any reason for panic. The supporting cast all seem to love the show. I can't imagine that they wouldn't want to sign on for more. Either way, we probably won't know anything for certain until mid-summer so it's simply not worth stressing about. |
