I really enjoy the roundtables and enjoy reading the views of all the participants. You all rock. I'm thrilled seeing the return of some form of Caskett. I liked the way Rick confronted Kate at the precinct. He said what he had to say and she heard all of it. That's why she showed up at the loft in the end. By addressing Kate calmly, she listened and heard what he was saying. If he had started yelling, things would of degenerated even more. Rick and Kate's fights have NEVER ended well when they start shouting at each other. That's why I felt he handled this right and his final comments as he was leaving the precinct almost undid Kate. She HEARD every word he said. The end scene was a little unsatisfying for me. A simple conversation and "okay" just didn't cut it. More needn't to be said at that point IMO. I felt MAMC was the best episode in a disappointing S8 and my hope is that TPTB will build from it and get back to the show we all loved. If they do not, I fear that this will be the last season.

I responded to the round table, and chose to go with the questions as presented and am reprising my response here:
Are you intrigued by the latest twist in the LokSat mystery?
Not really, I haven't been a fan of this particular story from the beginning. I thought I would be before the season started, and I wanted to be going into episode 2, but the whole “Caskett separation” story line completely ruined it for me. I could have accepted Vikram as part of the team (since Maya Stojan has move on to bigger and better things in her career so Tory Ellis was no longer an option) had this not been the case, but not now.
What do you think about Rick and Kate’s reconciliation?
I think it was incredibly rushed, that Castle changed gears from being righteous in his anger to traipsing off to the bedroom far too easily. I could have lived with less time on the boat to get a little more time for his hurt feelings along with Kate's lies and secrets to be acknowledged.
If you could get rid of one character on this show, who would it be?
I hate to say it, but I would have to say Vikram. I'm sure Sunkrish is a really nice guy and all, but his character is far too vague and Kate has trusted him far too easily from the word go. She has made him her partner in this and she really only needs one, Castle. Toks Olagundoye's Hayley at least has spunk, and I could buy her taking over Tory's spot on the show when everything shakes out. She at least had to prove herself to Castle before he trusted her, unlike Vikram.
Was there anything in “Mr & Mrs Castle” that disappointed you?
That it bore no resemblance to Mr. & Mrs. Smith whatsoever. That they tried to sum up six episodes of garbage (I kinda liked episodes 6 and 7) with two minutes of reconciliation.
What was your favorite scene from the episode?
When Castle said “we have to talk” and laid everything out to Kate in the interrogation room. That he finally got to have his “day in court” so to speak after weeks of lies and secrets and that he didn't cave when Kate asked “Why couldn't you just trust me?” She finally got the talking to that she deserved for creating this mess. It had to be said.
What do you hope to see when Castle returns on February 1st?
That Castle is not nearly so naive and trusting where Kate is concerned. I really hope she has to acknowledge what she did was wrong and that it won't be fixed by a roll in the sheets. I hope Kate actually puts in the work to earn back Castle's trust, which she knowingly broke. Mostly I hope that if there is a season 9 it's with the understanding that they can NEVER DO THIS AGAIN. That the “break Caskett up to put them back together” trope is now officially dead.
