WHAT IS A FALL FINALE? It means something has to end? Right? Like this ridiculous ARC? Or a second rate separation?
Kate is about to give in. You can feel it. She knows Rick has had enough. And she doesn't want to lose him. Vikram will try to talk her out of this, but she will make a choice. If she does not come home now, she never will. There may be some compromise, but the show's future hinges on this.
Rick has made a choice to accept Kate as she is. He knew that she will never share some things with him unless provoked. He has this way about him, much like a ballplayer who is a winner. Nothing phases him, and he has this supreme confidence and sparking personality that makes him unbeatable. He will always tell the rookie that...."Don't worry kid, I got this" and then he delivers with surprising calm and pardon the pun, "Serenity" that others, including Kate, admire dearly. He has been taught by the writers who adopted him about a certain way to live. You do what you want BECAUSE YOU CAN. He wins because he sees no point in losing. He is willing to go the full 9 innings and extra innings to get the desired outcome. This is why he will never give up on Beckett. And this is why she is can't stay away from him. He has gotten into her mind. He understands he will have to be patient and wear her down, until she feels it is her idea to come home. He is banking on it. It can not come from him. But he will plant the seed.
Kate will come to that "watershed" moment when she must choose between Castle or the job at hand and then hopefully sees that she can have both, just as Rick does with her.
My only other thought is "Why don't they just use the PI Business as a front to investigate?" Castle has all that cool stuff to get the job done.
Please share your thoughts about how you feel. Go rogue, have fun......no answers just random thoughts.

I like your thought sir. Let's hope Kate comes to the same conclusions next Monday. Perhaps being stranded on the ship will force her to face Rick and start sharing like she should have been doing all along?

I agree this is the first season that I have not watched a full episode and my vcr is not working so I have not been able to record it. Frankly this has been the worst episodes of the series thus far. I guess my interest has dropped because of the separation. If they do not get back together then I guess this will be the final season for this team.

Go rogue? Okay....
In the fitness world, there's pain and there's agony. To be better, fitter, faster, stronger, you have to push yourself. It will hurt. It will suck. You will be in pain.
But if you push the pain further, you'll be in agony. Now, back off a little and you're back to pain and it doesn't seem so bad anymore. You're happy to have pain.
And that's season 8. We were in pain in season 7 and the finale seemed to make most folks happy again. In season 8, we got agony and we've recently been thrown a bone, a lovely kiss that Kate interrupted to make sure Rick understood that it was just a timeout from the timeout so let's make out. We're in so much agony that we're just hoping to get back to something resembling where we left off in the season 7 finale. That's not progression in a series. That's awful storytelling.

Bravo Java!!!!! Nice She had me at "see you around ". Could she make him feel any worse? It's a little thing, but no one wants to feel used. Sad part was Kate was already gone mentally when she told him that. She had forgotten about that wonderful night and re-entered the "Time Out" Zone. Castle is a Saint folks......She couldn't wait to get out of there. I get the feeling this whole thing is going to haunt them both. A lesser man wold have asked for the keys back and served her with papers. Again, as out friend Java so aptly put it; " That's awful storytelling. " He must really love her. Can't wait to find out why vikram is so afraid that Castle is going to put 2 and 2 together.

And I want Kate to come home...I really do, but I just can't see it right now. The writers have created a real separation and this, I think it may take a while. So I guess, lets just fun Monday an feel good with what they give us......Kate needs help, both mentally and with the case. Coming home may not be the best option right now. Just throwing this out there. Talk about painful.

Angie wrote something in another thread that sums it all up as far as I am concerned. She said that we all had to work so hard this season to "Enjoy" this show. Wow!!!! Truer words have never been spoken. Talk about hitting the nail right on the head. Great thought.
I couldn't believe she said that. It is an ARC to it's own. How can we be happy with a show that we have loved for so long, but now has hit the skids. It's like a drunk without a drink. You want it so bad, but yet you can't have it. We have to condition ourselves to expect the worst and hope for the best. Amazing Angie!!! God, I love this chat room. Great Thoughts!!!
I don't think I have been happy at all this season. I keep looking for positives, but I have to say, ever since Kate picked up the gym bag and walked out on Castle, I have been bummed out to the max. And when she said after that monumental kiss, "You know we are still on "Time Out"and "See You Around" to him last week, I was trying to figure out what makes a woman want a man so much and then, as if in a hypnotic trance, bolt out the door?
I am hating Kate's character and to be fair, not so happy with the way Rick has handled all this. It has become a game of he said/she said and it's just not in tune with our beloved show. And now the Show Runners promise us that after this episode, we will see their vision for the rest of the season. Well, nothing short of them working things out will do. And I know, progress is not coming tonight.
And you know, like I stated earlier, I don't want Kate crawling back, I mean, you don't want damaged goods in the house. And I am talking from both sides. You can't take care of someone who refuses to take care of herself. THEY WILL HAVE TO WORK THINGS OUT.....They might as well get a divorce, and then get remarried at the end of the season in the Series Finale. I don't think this is something you can snap your fingers and all off the sudden it's all right. I just want the wall to come down tonight, but for every night she is not home. I will remain bummed out. I said earlier that we may need therapy as well. How do you heal a now global nation of Castle Fans who yearn for the days of Caskett? Lets hope our healing starts tonight.

It's like an old flame you've parted ways amicably with yet still keep in touch. You still care. You hope her well. You cringe whenever she's going through rough spots on the road of life. You cheer when things go her way. But, she's no longer a priority. So I'll be out birthday shopping again tonight even though the fall finale is here and that's okay.
