Yes, I follow the reviews of Lisa Caputo for years. I tend to follow her into her intelligent analysis. But she was personally attacked for her views. We know how that turned out for her previous forum. Opinions are opinions. I've never had a job or club or family experienced where everyone was in agreement with each other. Contradictions are part of life. Without the + or - there is no flow of life. But it often goes very wrong on social media. Complain and scold worldwide became the norm, also in the Castle-world.
You may claim a series that shows exactly what you want, but that is naive and unreal. Everyone can make its voice heard, but there are limits for me.
The huge decline in viewership between the especially nt-so-bad end of last season and the beginning of season eight, I declare from the enormous turmoil surrounding the unproven motives behind the long uncertainty of whether or not to continue season 8.
I was almost depressed about what was written about it last summer.
Afterwards, there appeared to have been little to worry about. Stana said that she never had the intention to stop. It was not an issue. Through all the comments here and elsewhere about the beginning of season eight, I had almost no sense to look, when the first episodes in my own country came on the TV.
But apart from weird things like a farting Castle I saw no other series than I was used during the seven years that I've looked.
I'll just keep watching.

It is always unashamed cheer-leading with very little tolerance for differing opinions. One of the reasons the previous board imploded. Much like CastleTV. If I wanted only positive spin then I could go to the ABC official sites. I never excuse the insults and lack of politeness but differing opinions should be respected and encouraged.
The reality for many long term fans is that we care and cherish the characters more than the showrunners seem to. We would never have done away with 'One and Done', never had denied fans their true Caskett wedding, and never contemplated what they have done this season with devastating impact to the viewer numbers and fan base and the previously loyal Caskett fanatics.
There was a time when the McGuffins and the conspiracies were (well if not believable) at least plausible in the scheme of the show and advanced the characters. Think Pandora, Hunt, Countdown or even The Dragon/Bracken. The reasons for Castle's wedding day disappearance and this season's frankly dire conspiracy are tired and lame plot devices that they can't even give a half-way decent plot to. Over a dozen dead bodies including more than a half-dozen federal agents and yet nothing - no media storm, no federal agencies crawling all over it. All the more surprising is that a supposedly omnipotent rouge element in the CIA can't take out one frankly obvious former-analyst-for-AG-now-working-for-NYPD-as-pathetic-non-cover-story and his equally obvious Captain. They (and probably their families and coworkers) should all be dead before the first cup of coffee in the morning.
My wife has helped me cope (never thought I would write that) with this season but have no expectations going into each episode. It is the only way for me to deal with it. Well that and writing (and reading) fan fiction.

I have always respected Lisa's work and her writing, even when I have disagreed with her take on the show. Sadly, it does appear that she still seems to be somewhat intolerant of those who don't agree with her viewpoint. And while I understand what she's saying, I still think this was a total fail by Hawley & Winters. This is not what the fans wanted to see. That's not saying that they are terrible writers or anything of that nature, just that they made a serious error in judgment on what fans wanted/expected this season. And that maybe they should take a good look at what's been said for the past two months and make some changes.
