THE FINAL THREE

Okay kids, so Baseball season is kinda over for now...only 105 days till Spring Training
(But who's counting? )....so I had a chance to catch up on things, rewatch some episodes, read the awesome comments from all you Castlemaniacs out there, and try to figure out what the heck has happened and what are the ramifications of a 1.1 share besides the DVR +3 and DVR + 7 that Castle88 so painstakingly supplies for us. Also I want to applaud ProudTV Junkie for keeping her objectivity in the midst of all this confusing ARCademics. Professionals, like herself, need to tell the story as well and her reviews have been honest and to the point. No BS, and objective to the core. Thanks for that PTVJ!!!!

So I just have a question for everyone. If Kate is trying to protect Rick and I guess his family while she goes about her business as Captain Katherine Beckett by day and Kate Beckett, CIA, FBI, MIB, AG....what ever, by night, how does that save really save anyone?

I SAID THIS ONCE AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN...IF THEY WANTED RICK DEAD, HE WOULD BE DEAD ALREADY. THEY KNOW WHO HE IS AND WHERE HE LIVES AND BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. They follow Alexis to school or the PI office and Martha is now back in the public eye so she is fair game as well. What the Hell? Who are you really protecting Kate?

And while we are on the subject ....Kate feels she can hide in plain sight at the 12th.  P L E A S E....Don't go there folks. That bird has flown. 3XK waltzed right in and spoke to Castle.....he also got all the files, so don't tell me she is safe there. Collateral Damage dictates that someone could be the Kamakazi Pilot who zooms in and storms the office  and puts one right between her eyes. Where's your protection now writers? Did you really think this ARC had any potential? You bunch of morons. Whats the point.

I firmly believe that while Rick and Kate are separated, they are safe because together they are the opposition's kryptonite. Apart, they are useless. This could go on forever. When they unite is when all hell is going to break loose, and I hope we see it before the first of February or whenever the show comes back on.
I guess, I am back in Florida by then, LOL. I am hoping this is what "Mr and Mrs Castle" is all about. Joining forces and kicking ass the "Castle" way, telling the story, getting the answers, theorizing and then plowing the road and finishing the job after about 90 twists.

So how do they save each other, from each other, so they can love each other the way it used to be?  Who protects Kate? See we have all wrong. It's Kate who needs Castle and not the other way around. She just doesn't know it yet.

They have 3 episodes to get this right.  Who knows what happens over the break. I would like to see both lead actors be a little more committed to the show. They are getting paid now what they are worth, so lets get this thing in gear.  Does anything I just rambled about and for my Canadian Friends "Abowt" make sense to you. There are some great theories floating around out there, but can they survive without a reunion in the Fall Finale?

Ah, Kman, so we have you for the winter, eh?      You've certainly given voice to what the majority of us are feeling and questioning. The whole premise of this separation arc is based on folly with the notion that Castle is safe because Kate isn't living at the loft. I also agree that they are much more of a formidable force against evil when they're working together. I want, with all my heart to believe that this will come to an end in November but the latest interview that PTVJ shared left me with serious doubts. Another thing fueling that doubt is what you pointed out about little or no progress being shown on Kate's attempt to break the conspiracy. Heaven help us if this is going to last all season long.

I agree! The PTB have to not only deal with the no perceived progress on the case, but now have the beginning of a trust issue, not to mention a strained relationship between a man and a woman who endured so much to finally realize that they were so much better together than apart. So many issues now to deal with....all because someone couldn't get over the notion that a strong marriage could survive together rather than separated. I am talking about the PTB and not Beckett. She is now a good Sophia Turner, which I find appalling. If this goes on the entire season thus show may fall victim to its own murder.

Kman, there's one other factor that you mentioned that I wanted to comment on and that was the commitment of the lead actors. I really wrestle with that - not so much their commitment to the show but striking a balance between 14 - 16 hour draining days that means they have no life and having 3 day work weeks or even less at times, that necessitates a story line that keeps their characters apart. We have no way of knowing what's in the new contracts but I have to believe that after all this time, both Nathan and Stana KNOW that the show hinges on Caskett. They both seemed to go into the season with positive attitudes and I hope that wasn't coming from just being happy for themselves and their new freedom. In my head, I've reasoned that MAYBE this extra time off was arranged for the late Summer and Fall due to specific projects (ATP and Con Man) and we'll see the end of it now that they're filming the next third of the episodes. Holding my breath that February will begin a much different dynamic.

kman Thanks so much for the compliments on my reviews. Yes, some weeks they are more difficult to write than others. I do my best to keep an open mind and try to address both the positive and the negative.

In my opinion, this separation arc was poorly conceived and the execution has been even worse. When the writers have to give constant interviews to explain their story, they've done something wrong. This is the first season that has truly made me sad to watch my favorite show.

As much as I'm hoping this dreaded arc is coming to an end, I'm afraid to get my hopes up because, in my opinion, more than the separation needs to be fixed, although that's the largest of the issues. I dislike Castle as a permanent P.I. As three episodes last season it was kind of fun but now it's tedious. I hate Alexis as his partner even more.

I want Castle, Beckett, Espo, and Ryan solving crimes together. I want all those fun scenes of Rick and Kate back at the loft cuddling on the sofa or getting ready for bed. Those are the things I look forward to and haven't gotten this season.

Now I'm rambling...Let's just hope these next three episodes give us something to look forward to.

I hear you Nathanfan1...hear you loud and clear.  We all go through the draining days of the demanding work schedules, and sometimes we are like the buttermilk biscuits that are fixing to rise, but get cooked in the squat,  as our work schedule and outside life get compromised by projects we try to  fit in. I like the fact that the actors can take much needed time off, but sometimes you have to know when to stop and take a breather  in your "Down Time".  And when I say "committed", I just mean don't spread yourself too thin, something agencies have a hard time understanding. It's like in baseball, the season is long and you beg for the rain outs and afternoon games which let you take a deep breath and exhale. The same is true on the sets of the tv shows.  So, no more distractions from outside projects (if it can be helped) and focus getting in synch with the writers and show runners and open the lines of communications because I think that is a big problem on this show right now. The show runners seem unwilling to listen to any other ideas as they go out to prove their point.   Feedback is crucial...from Nathan and Stana and the fans as well. I hope they are listening.

You are so right ProudTVJunkie....you can only cry wolf for so long.  That is a great observation.  Defense becomes their offense and eventually their downfall. That seems to be so true in the world we live in today. Enough rope will hang you every time.  This show can be salvaged, but there will have to be some damage control along the way.

And by the way, you are so right about the PI story line. Castle is the "Poe" winner for gosh sakes!  Lets get back to our roots on this show.  Maybe he finds something new to write about, or he gets into a children's book or two, which seems to be a perfect fit for Richard Castle. After all, he is the quintessential boy trapped inside a man's body.  Can you imagine a young Castle and Beckett?  Rick and Kate and the Tale of the Mummy....etc.

Hi everyone

Kman I just wanted to say I LOVE the idea of Rick writing a children's book. It would come about when a young boy is the sole witness to a murder and Rick & Kate have the job of making him feel safe so that Kate can get the information they need as well as keeping him safe. Another chance to see what kind of parents Rick & Kate would be. But that would of course mean they would be living together. It would be a story that Rick would make up for him and then the idea would just take a hold once the case was over.
