We had something like this at the 12th but I couldn't find a similar thread here and I didn't want to use the Just Because It Brings Me Joy which is focused on animals. Since this site is about joy or the possibility of it, I thought it might be nice to add such a thread. I'll start. I want to thank castlekat for helping me start a bone china collection, specifically Lenox Autumn. My mother has China of the Asian variety and they stay locked up in a curio awaiting a special occasion. Yes, I am my mother's child but I hate displaying them. I rather make an ordinary day extraordinary. What is a special occasion? A holiday on the calendar passed by Congress? A milestone or achievement celebration? How about just because? How about a celebration of life? How about everyday elegance? Yes, that's what my theme is and I plan on spending the second half of my life working towards it. So, thanks a million castlekat! You've been extraordinarily the sister I never had.  |

Hold on there a minute, Java! If CK is YOUR sister and she's also MY Nathan/Castle sister - that means YOU and I are siblings!!!!! WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!  Welcome to the family, sir! Thanks for starting this thread! I do remember it at the 12th. Today and tomorrow some very dear friends will be visiting and I am so thankful for the 40 + years of memories we've shared with them. Friends are truly a precious gift! |

I am equally honored to know you, as you have been not only a bright light in my life since meeting you here four years ago starting with all things Castle, but you have given me so much in return! Different perspective on things of life, and a very important one, my health! .... by introducing me to a healthier lifestyle....and so much more!!!! And...if I may add.... I don't believe my name, and the word, or any form of the word "extraordinary", have ever been used in the same sentence. Oh yes, you have blessed me today!!! You are my brother from another mother, and forever, treasured friend. God knows what we need, and provides the way to bring those of us together who are meant to be. Of that, I am certain. We just need to keep our  open. So yes, bone china today, sterling silver tomorrow! LoL! Endless fun to be had, many treasures, material and otherwise, to be found! We have been together now SO many glorious times, and have had so many crazy and belly-laughing moments, many over Castle (and some have been very naughty, if I dare say), that there will never be another Castle sister that could EVER replace you! In the lobby in the hotel in L.A. wins the prize! We have Tycho, Barb, iCaskett and a couple of others to relish the memory with and you brought new meaning to what "quilting" will forever mean in my life! ROFL! Twitter, Facebook, & Castle boards have allowed me to connect with so many amazing people. The Castle cons, & Castle groups have been the best for actually meeting some of these great people in person. Java, I was scared for my life this summer! I heard her coming from a mile away so be prepared!    Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to use earplugs and wear a bulletproof vest with "Bro" on it to protect my ribs. |
