castlekat...It's your birthday! I hope it's been amazing and fun. Do you dress up for tomorrow's the holiday? Maybe they dressed up just for you. As I have usually had my birthday parties in the past combined with Halloween, I have probably been "dressed up" on my birthday more times than not. I have been princesses, scary princesses, a witch, a high-society-know-it-all-dame complete with the long cigarette holder, a black cat, Batgirl, a farmer, a black belt in karate, a German girl (and I"m not German...lol...) a bride, a gypsy, a cowgirl, omg, at now 49, I cannot even remember... oh, a ghost, of course, a clown, lol... the more I sit here, maybe I'll remember... OH, a 1950's Rockabilly girl.... a hobo...lol... At any rate, my husband and I attended our first Renaissance Festival with our oldest son, his girlfriend, and a bunch of their college friends. My hubs & I went as a knight and his maiden. So, I do have an official costume for that, but I find it is more fun to make them up and use what you have at home. And it's a great way to get rid of old make up! LoL! ARen't you glad you asked, Christine? hahahahaha! Maybe one year I'll go as a police woman. How about you? Do you dress up to take your daughter out, or just for fun? I think it's a blast to dress up!

castlekat My husband, who normally works Saturdays, managed to get off early so we could take our 6-year-old daughter out trick-or-treating together and participate in our town's Halloween parade. My daughter was Princess Jasmine from Disney's Aladdin. I didn't dress up, per se. I haven't since college but I did wear an orange skirt, black top and walk around with a big fuzzy spider on my shoulder. Does that count?
