I think it's pretty telling that XX had eight pages of discussion and this ep has had only two. I think the ugly twins of fatalism and disinterest have taken up residence. I just asked some friends via a different avenue if it was heart-breaking that I'm looking forward to Arrow tonight more than Castle.... Wondering (thinking out loud, actually), if Marlowe knew this was the route ABC wanted to go. And because he promised he wouldn't do this, he had to move on. I just wonder. About a lot of things. Hindsight. It's kinda like bad timing.

I've been quiet for the last two episodes. I didn't watch the last one until last night because I was away. I'm not sure how I feel about the last episode. It had its moments. The coffee connection was perfect. The way they look at each other there us no way divorce is on the table. I loved the Martha and Kate talk. Martha always gets her point across in the end, and the hug was priceless. The teasing phone call was cute, but the rest just seemed like filler to me. I love watching the boys, but things were just a bit out of character. I'm still here and will be watching on Monday! Hope it gets better.

Has anyone noticed that Beckett seemed somehow tired at some points and was sitting too much or even lying down in the couch? Is she supposed to be still recovering from her wound or do you think the writers are hinting something? Good observation. I didn't think about the possibility of a pregnancy. Maybe that's what they'll use to bring Rick and Kate back together in the mid season cliffhanger? "Rick, I'm pregnant." Fades to black.

Baby shower. Ryan complains to Espo. Espo tells Lanie. Lanie calls Kate and throws a surprise baby shower. I wouldn't be surprise if Rick secretly sets up a college fund for the Ryan's kids. And buys them a pony, of course!!!!

Actually I did wonder about that...at one point I thought she was acting like she was feeling a little under the weather and the thought of pregnancy did very briefly flit across my mind....although with this season it seems like the possibilities are endless. We will probably need another character/guest star introduced for that plotline.

Well, I certainly hope they don't use this reason to get Rick and Kate back together. After shattering our , they owe us the best make up episode ever (not just a quick scene) and to bring them back together based on love. Am I asking to much? :-)

Kate can't be pregnant. If she is pregnant...and is STILL pursuing this...? Endangering not only her future child...but Rick's too? At that point she would have lost all perspective and would become a totally unrealistic character.

As much as I want a Caskett baby in the near future, I don't want it used as a lame trope to bring these two back together. I'll feel even more cheated if that's the way it happens.

Like Beckett conveniently forgetting she was married just to delay the wedding for an hour? Like Castle's disappearance on his way to the wedding was used to force a cliffhanger and push the wedding into season 7? Like their blue screen wedding was used to bring them back together after the uncertainty of Rick's disappearance when all evidence suggested that he intentionally orchestrated it? Like Beckett walking out on her marriage to protect her husband from Bracken's mysterious partner who had the entire AG team and Bracken killed in case people talked but conveniently let Vickram and Beckett live because maybe she's not persuing the case when even Bracken himself knows she won't quit? I think every possible plot line and subplot are still on the table.

One of the main things I was looking for tonight was clues that showed this episode had been written, filmed and intended to be aired BEFORE last week's episode, and one of the most satisfying things for me was that this started with Martha confronting Kate at the precinct. It seemed odd last week that Martha and Alexis' only reaction to the separation was a cheer up basket for Castle. Thank you for showing us that Martha truly is invested in this marriage and wants Kate to see the error of her ways. Martha's lines about Castle's 2 previous divorces being complicated and her hug and assurance that Castle can always be relied on made this scene very emotional for me. I teared up over the tragedy of this whole separation. It's all so unnecessary! Keeping with the Caskett focus, coffee again became an important symbol. Kate can't make a good cup as we saw in the early part of the episode, but Castle makes it perfectly and presents it like he's offering her his heart all over again. Makes me ache for Castle and want to scream at Beckett as she excuses herself for having to take a call. Castle gives her her space - as she asked - and leaves. It's so wrong! Another thing that didn't set well with me was the phone call Kate made to tease Castle about the 'blind' priest getting away from him. It infuriated me that she could do something so familiar and still remain distant. To make it even worse, they wrote it that Castle took it as a score because she was having fun with him. SO SAD. It's like she's toying with him. At the end of the Skype call, Castle shows real concern for Beckett and her new job, wearing his heart on his sleeve and Kate must be made of stone to keep shutting him out. We got a quick shot of Castle and Kate and the boys at the murder board and Castle got to be in on the final takedown, although it was probably just because the woman was his client. As my hubby said, "If this is them working together, those writers must be smoking something!" AMEN, Dear! I hope someone figures the # of minutes Castle and Beckett were on screen together again. I bet it was even less than last week. It was an entertaining episode but there's still no JOY in Mudsville and I don't know if it'll ever be the same for me. Finally watched today and couldn't agree more with this. This horse puckey separation is all so unnecessary and casts a shadow of sadness over everything in what would have been an otherwise very entertaining episode. Given other circumstances, I probably would have loved it. I've always loved the antics of Castle with the boys and this episode was full of them. I loved the dinner scene with the mobster and the boys busting in on it. First of all, Kate left Rick. She doesn't get to touch him, she doesn't get to call him and play nice-nice with him and tease him. She doesn't get to give him all these false hopes. I'm really finding it hard to like Beckett right now. <sigh> I'm also tired of them poking fun at Castle being a bad writer. That's getting to be an old joke that is no longer funny. I think he's proved himself over and over. Beckett laying on her sofa was so weird and unnecessary to me. I would have never thought the old Beckett would be caught dead laying on the sofa while on the job but then that Beckett is long gone for me. The scene with Martha and Kate was great but as per usual Castle style, interrupted which is no longer funny to me either. Too bad I don't think anything will come of that scene because if Kate tells Rick the truth then there goes the presumed months-long separation. <blech> The longer Caskett stays separated, the quicker I'm going to lose all interest because "the chase 2.0" is not in any way entertaining to me. It's just stupid. Rick: There's no greater betrayal than a lie in a marriage So, now the question is just how long is Kate going to betray their trust in each other by continuing her lie.

I would suggest the reason Becket is tired is not because of being pregnant but because she is hunting for her new obsession after hours - so lack of sleep to me is the most obvious idea.
I'm in England and I'm only seeing bits of each episode on YouTube because series 8 won't hit English screens until probably May of next year but what I'm seeing so far is heartbreaking. This used to be the one show that I knew would cheer me up if I was feeling low and now - well - I'm at a loss to know what to think.
The show runners want us to root for Caskett again but we fans were already doing that! What I guess most of us want is to see the relationship go forward, as any marriage hopefully would. I will continue to watch the reruns on Alibi TV and watch my box sets and YouTube and of course follow what's being said on PFJ! Fingers crossed for better news soon.
