I read somewhere that we w t have any of reruns. The hiatus will be until mid February with no reruns other than maybe some during the hiatus. I'm going now to look it up. here it is.... tvline.com/2015/09/29/castle-season-8-fall-finale-schedule-hiatus/Castle and Nashville, ABC’s last two “holdouts,” this winter will adopt the extended midseason break plan originated by such sister series as Once Upon a Time, Scandal and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. RELATEDCastle Bosses Defend ‘Bold’ Twist, Preview ‘Caskett’ Version 2.0, Hint at Fall Finale ‘Shift’ Castle, which in recent years has only taken five or six weeks off in the winter, this season will air its fall finale on Nov. 23, then not resume Season 8’s 22-episode run until early February, TVLine has learned. This marks the first time since Season 2 (its first full season) that the procedural has not aired an original in January. Similarly, Nashville, which last winter broke for a series-high eight weeks, will take an even longer holiday this time around, though exact fall finale/return dates for the country-fried drama are not yet available. Filling the series’ respective Monday and Wednesday time slots during the long break will be holiday programming and specials and, in some situations, limited series yet to be announced. (In May, ABC president Paul Lee indicated that Season 2 of Secrets and Lies will inhabit Nashville‘s slot.) For Castle fans — as revealed in this exclusive TVLine Q&A — the wait for February could feel particularly long. Because in the wake of the two-part premiere’s final twist, “Things are going to constantly evolve [for Rick and Kate], and by the time we get to the end of our fall finale, which will be Episode 8, there’s another shift and change that’s incredibly dynamic,” co-showrunner Terence Paul Winter said. RELATEDNashville Season 4 Premiere Recap: Deacon’s Fate Revealed! With Castle and Nashville on board, every returning ABC fall drama now is following the “gap” scheduling plan that was designed to deliver more continuous stretches of original episodes (and thus temper ratings erosion) and was first braved by Once (which last winter was on hiatus for 11 weeks), Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder (10 weeks each) and S.H.I.E.L.D. (12 weeks).

I just want them to give Castle some backbone this time. I really didn't like the wimpy way he was portrayed with Slaughter in Headhunters.

“Things are going to constantly evolve [for Rick and Kate], and by the time we get to the end of our fall finale, which will be Episode 8, there’s another shift and change that’s incredibly dynamic,”
After the last three episodes, this statement fills me with more dread than hope. I don't want to be pessimistic. I want to be hopeful but I just don't trust anything the showrunners say. I feel like we're using the same words but have completely different meanings for them.

Well, since you opened the can of worms ... every time I see that tagline "the shift and change that's incredibly dynamic" it fills me with dread, too...and I already had a pretty ingrained sense of dread anyway before first seeing that...I'm trying to relax and go with the flow...but definitely feeling like I'm going against the current...I'll quit there. Tomorrow is another day, right? Drum roll, segueway to..... And speaking of Scarlet...here's one of my favorite Carol Burnett skits where she uses the drapes to make a dress...from "Went With The Wind"

"She saw them in the window & just couldn't resist!"........................................ BEST. SKIT. EVER! I so wish they'd release the entire Carol Burnett series on DVD. Time-Life had them for awhile, for an exhorbitant price! Wonder why they won't release them, they'd make bazillions! That hour on Saturday nights, at 10:00 p.m. EST was the highlight of my weekend as a young girl. I remember many nights FIGHTING to keep my eyes open until the last scene which was usually a dance/musical number. And knew when Carol sang her goodnight song, "I'm so glad we had this time, together...." and pulled her ear, I could finally go to sleep. A very fond memory with my mom. I hated to see it end. Thanks for that fjordmom! *big heart here*

OK rose colored glasses have been put on... I think Kate will get pregnant. Now this could be the immaculate conception since she's not living at home. Maybe we will see a little booty call in the next 5 episodes?? The 2nd half of the season will be like the wedding planing episodes of season 5. But this time they will let us get a happy ending. OK taking the glasses off...
I think Nathan wanted to play it like a wimp with Adam. He was the Captain on Firefly so he probably wanted to reverse that role when he came on Castle. But...I also hope he is more of the strong level headed Castle this time.

You just THINK you're wearing rose colored glasses....I think you must have gotten into some of that 50-year-old scotch!!!!!! Hmmmm....maybe Rick should ply Kate with some scotch and she'll come to her senses and decide to fetch her petite duffle bag and come back home.

I don't care for scotch that's Mr Tycho's drink. I can choke down an 18 yr old Dalmore. I think that Rick should be sharing that 50 yr old bottle with Kate. She was drinking something that looked like scotch one episode. Maybe he could get her to loosen up and tell him what's going on. Good idea

Good idea Actually I would have to choke down any type of straight liquor like that, too ... champagne would be fine though.

I'll say it again. It may have been better if they just ended the series last season. If one makes too many commitments and tries to go too many directions, nothing receives one's 100%. JMHO Yes. I'm still mad. Well...this maybe one of the contributing factors as to why TV By The Numbers has Castle as the Number 2 ABC show to be cancelled along with I think Nashville

I'm honestly not sure if I'd want it to come about this way and yet I'm not sure I want to get my hopes up for it either. Just a few more episodes and we'll get to see what happens...

After all the reassurances they gave over the summer that turned out to be completely opposite of what we've seen, I absolutely cringe at what they think will be a "shift and change that's incredibly dynamic". The only dynamic I want to see shifted and changed is Rick and Kate back together.....for good!!!!!!!!

I believe episodes 7 and 8 were/are filmed out of order. That may explain the confusion about the last episode.
