I have been giving this some major thought since the summer came to an end and have come to the realization that we as a fandom have allowed the wrong portions of our collective do all the talking for us.
I’m not sure that we, as a fandom, give Stana enough credit, or encouragement for including us in her life to the extent that she has. She puts up with a lot of scary, creepy, hurtful bs from a lot of people, and yet she hasn’t given up on us as a lost cause.
She still tweets and posts things on instagram sharing bits of her life with us even when she's on hiatus and isn't obligated to, even though for every word of encouragement she has to wade through a sea of threats, insults and creepy pickup lines.
I personally sent her a thank you note on twitter and instagram today for not giving up on all of us. (even knowing she may never read or acknowledge it) I think that more of us need to step up and send her words of encouragement.
She deserves to hear that those asshats don’t speak for all of us as often as possible.
She deserves to be happy on her terms, not ours.

Well said, shutterbug! I'm not on twitter, but I'll try to find a way to encourage her. She definitely deserves it!

A pretty sage statement there at the end, Shutterbug. I think it holds true for any celebrity one might follow. They do indeed deserve to be happy on their terms, not ours. Well said.
