Hi All, It's a new week, but I'm still feeling under the weather. ibmjas, I did take a Covid test and thankfully it was negative. This is just a bad cold. My husband and daughter are definitely feeling better, but I just can't seem to kick it. I think I need to look into taking more vitamins because I really want to try and stay healthy with the holidays coming up. It's sunny today, but very windy. I'm trying to trap a young feral cat to get it fixed, but the wind has the cats hiding today. We've decided to go back to watching the show Tracker. I don't even remember why we stopped, other than things just got busy. We never finished season 1. But I've always liked Justin Hartley (Mistresses, This Is Us) and it's an intriguing concept so I'm happy to get back to it. So how is your week going? Is it still warm where you are or has autumn started? Check in and let us know how you're doing.

So, it's been a day. My cold and my pets are getting the better of me. Every morning, I walk our dog, Astrid, a German Shepherd, to my daughter's bus stop, and then continue our morning walk. Well, this morning, I stepped onto the porch with the dog and realized I wasn't wearing my glasses. (This never happens, so I'm assuming it's due to my cold or the medicine.) I took Astrid back inside, locked the storm door, and went into the next room to grab my glasses, only to hear the door slam shut.
Astrid had jumped up, hit the lock, opened the door, and took off after the neighbor's cat. It's 6:30 in the morning and the neighborhood hears me screaming for my dog and running across the street. I'm sure it was quite a sight. Thankfully, she had her leash on and was stopped at the neighbor's back fence, which I'm sure the cat went under.
Later on, at home, I found my cat inside the drawer where her toys are kept. I pulled her out and closed the drawer so she couldn't open it. Apparently, she was unhappy with me. She waited until I lied down, then jumped onto my dresser and knocked all of my cold medicine and tissues, one by one, onto the floor with her paw, all while staring at me.
I'm ready to go back to bed and hope for better tomorrow.

Christine, I'm sorry you're sick. Your cat needs to go to the naughty room, and the dog needs a time out, lol.
Our weather is supposed to be cooli8ng off by the end of the week with a chance of rain Friday. That probably means clouds and wi8nd for me. Cooler temps would be nice.
There is so much to do now that my husband has passed away. Of course social security and his pension people will be taking back their last payments to him. My SS will eventually get bumped up to his amount and I should receive 50% of his pension. I'm really glad we paid off our house when he retired several years ago. Deciding what to do about the house is for another day.

The weather's been crazy. It was 80° Sunday. I was in a golf tournament Monday and the high was 60° with 22 mph winds. Not fun. Tonight we're supposed to get the 1st frost, then it will start warming up again until it hits 80° again next Wednesday. I got out a few fall decorations today. I love fall but not really ready to see summer go. At least we'll have a few more nice days. I still have an annoying lingering cough, but hopefully it will soon be gone.

We had sponsored two French exchange students for their two week stay. They returned to France yesterday afternoon. No, I do not speak French at all but Dawn does. Fortunately, their English was super. They both were wonderful 17 year old guys. We will miss them...but, we have great memories. We are currently experiencing over night temperatures in high 30s with daytime highs of low 60s. However, we may be back in the high 60s-low 70s this weekend. Yard work demands are beginning to diminish.

I was camping last week so I was off line. The park did not have wifi.My fridge stopped working on electric. I didn't notice until I opened the freezer the first night for a fudge cycle to find everything melted even the ice cubes so it had probably never worked? It did come back on using propane. Just what I needed another repair bill. It was very hot all week. The first day my power to the rig went out and my pet temperature detector alerted me to the power loss. I was ready to start my generator as my poor kitties were sprawled out on the floor trying to stay cool. The finally plugged me into the next empty camp site and the power worked again. they replaced the plug connection the next day. I am heading out soon to go to the military cemetery to play taps for one of my camping friends who passed last month. He is retired military. My husband is also in that cemetery. I will go with her in December for the Wreath's Across America to make sure they both get a wreath. We are getting rain (yeah!!) and temps in the 70's today. I am ready for cooler temps. I go camping again next week and I think they will jump up again. I'm ready for long pants and some nice campfires.
