Hi All, August is here! The heat and humidity haven't been quite as bad this month, or maybe I've just grown used to it. We are back to having thunderstorms almost every day once again, but that does \tend to keep the heat down just a few degrees. At this point, anything will help. Yesterday, we saw the movie Twisters. The three of us loved it and thought it was great fun. And my daughter loved that the main character and hero was named after her. So, now it's your turn. Check in and let us know what you did over the weekend and how your week is looking.

We are still waiting for rain...only .092 so far this month. At least water restriction are NOT in place for Winchester. Only ten days - yes, 10 - until the two weeks of Great Canada Fishing Adventure Number 20 begins!

I went to see Deadpool & Wolverine. Yes, I like super hero movies and I saw the original Deadpool movie which I enjoyed. This one was rated R. It was expletive filled, full of bloody violence, and thin on story line. Deadpool constantly breaks the 4th wall and there are jokes about everything including Hugh Jackman's divorce. There were a lot of funny things in the movie but a little of Ryan Reynolds goes a long way and there was a LOT of Ryan Reynolds. I can't recommend it unless you are a big superhero and in particular Deadpool fan.
I'd like to see Twisters but not sure if I'll go to the theater.

I've heard a few people share your feelings about Deadpool Wolverine. Although I've seen several films in the Marvel franchise, I haven't seen Deadpool or Wolverine so I'll likely skip this one. As for Twisters, it's the type of movie worth seeing on the big screen if you can.

ibmjas I agree with you on the new Deadpool Wolverine movie. I am a big Marvel fan but this one was just not good. They had the world premier for the Wolverine movie here in Tempe, AZ. I retired that year and had extra time was I took my chair, a good book, and water and went down for the day. I got everyone in the cast who was at the premier, except Hugh, to sign a graphic novel of the Wolverine story for my Grandson's 15th birthday. Ryan thought it was so cool. He actually started flipping thru the pages. He said "Where did you get this?" I said Barnes and Nobel. They said how nice it was to have the premier not in LA or New York. I wonder how they will do this when it comes to TV. There is no way they can put this on the Disney channel with the other Marvel movies. I have to say the one scene with Hugh without his costume he was pretty hot...

Five inches of rain last night. Fortunately, we did not have the really strong winds. It was windy but not that bad. It will be a couple days before we need to attack the wild weeds growth. With all the heat we had plus this rain, we will be really busy! Only five days until travel begins; and, only seven days until the 0630 daily 'camp departure' so that fishing begins!

Well, we were hoping to head down the shore this week, but the weather was against us. Even our 4-H Fair was canceled due to thunderstorms and tornado warnings. I feel horrible for the folks who put so much work into that fair all year long. It's such a shame. Last year was the first time it was back since Covid and then this year it was canceled due to weather. We were really looking forward to going. Astrid's never seen a cow boefore and we wanted to see how she'd react.

My daughter asked me what was my favorite part of the movie. I said when Wolverine lost his shirt!
