How is July almost over already?

This summer is flying by much too fast and I'm definitely going to miss it when it's done. I thought we would have gotten to the beach several times by now, but every week something seems to get in our way. Hopefully, that will change soon.

But tonight we're going to see the movie Fly Me To The Moon. Has anyone else seen it?

Last Friday, we took our dog to get a bath. She's a 65 lbs German Shepherd who loves playing in water but HATES getting a bath. If we bathe her at home she will do everything she can to jump out of the tub. The whole bathroom looks like a disaster zone once we're done. The boarding/dog daycare place we use does basic baths for $30. We tried that, but they said she pulled so hard on the restraint that they were afraid she was going to hurt herself and they weren't comfortable trying again. There's a pet store nearby with self-service pet bathtubs. We've tried that once before with limited success. This time, we gave her a prescription sedative from our vet. Only half a dose. Not enough to knock her out, just enough to calm her down.

Thankfully, it worked. We were able to bathe her without her hurting herself or one of us have to hold her in a bear hug while we did it. Then she got home and napped the rest of the day.

larryholmes, we finally got a significant amount of weeds pulled in our front yard over the weekend. I think my rose bushes really appreciated it as I woke up to new blooms this morning. There's still plenty more to do, but at least I feel like we've made some progress and have a fighting chance now.

Saw Twisters and really enjoyed it.

We are really enjoying our time off from twin's sports. We are going to have a week of hot, humid weather but then back to nice temps. All is still lush here. Been getting enough rain. 

We have a pond here outside our door and the fishing is great. Big panfish and decent Smallmouth Bass fishing. It's catch and release but no problem there. My grandkids love to fish so we have a great time. Both kids bait their own hooks and take off what they catch

So every morning since Sunday it's been incredibly sunny, hot, & steamy. Every afternoon there has been a monsoon for about an hour, then it returns to sunny, hot, & more steamy! It's been unreal! Here's a video a friend took of the storm on the 30th.
