Shout-out to Castle in a TVLine article on pet peeves...... THE WELL-HEELED COP Otherwise known as the FBI agent/cop who can give chase, leap across buildings and manage close-quarters combat whilst in admittedly impractical footwear. And hey, we’re not just talking about Castle‘s Beckett up above. Also see: Hawaii Five-0′s McGarett, clambering across rooftops and leaping across alleyways onto narrow downspouts in… flat-soled Chuck Taylors? There is a picture of Kate with this one. tvline.com/lists/tv-pet-peeves-tropes/the-well-heeled-cop/

Yes! This. There is no way someone wouldn't break an ankle trying to chase someone on city streets in those heels. They make it seem like it's some special super power but it's just dumb.

Yes, the high heels were ridiculous. Kate started out being pretty practical in her clothing, shoes, & hair. I could picture her getting called at night, throwing on some clothes, running her hand thru her hair, and out the door in seconds flat. After a few seasons it seemed she needed to look thru her closet to pick out a perfectly matched designer outfit (high heels included), then spend an hour on hair and makeup.
I guess my bigger pet peeve is all these 5 foot 100 lb women who dispatch a huge guy with one punch or after an extended battle with 3 guys she takes them all out and comes away without a bruise. It's totally unbelievable, but they continue to do it in every show.
