From TVLine: Any scoop for Martha on Castle? –BarryCo-showrunner Terence Paul Winter told me that although Martha has moved out of the loft and has a newly thriving career when Season 8 opens, “She’s very much a part of Castle’s life. Don’t think that just because she now has her own place and is doing well on Broadway that we’re not going to see her sharing her wisdom with her favorite and only son.” Please, please say that Castle‘s Dad will be back sometime during the new season!? –BGWould you settle for “He is mentioned in the premiere”…? I've said it before, likely the only way we're gonna see Castle's dad again is if they find someone else to play him, or he's on Dr. Parish's slab. Especially if they want to deviate from James Brolin's head canon of the man.
Other than that, it will just be brief mentions, a name on a text message, or some minion of his acting as a proxy.

Hearing that we start with Martha already out of the loft makes me think that we'll also likely be starting with Kate already Captain. I've been wondering if we'd see her promoted or just be told that she was.
Interesting that Martha might be back on Broadway though!
This is going to be one heck of a leap for a summer hiatus.

This makes me wonder if that plot for 801 "XY" posted on IMDB and then pulled may be more accurate than we've been led to believe.
"After Rick's father disappears Kate and Rick investigate. As they do, Rick starts remembering things from his own disappearance."
Hmm...

Martha's return to a successful Broadway play happened at the end of last season. Remember her only saying her opening line, no matter what anyone asked her? Though she did break her tradition part way through the episode.

And if things are going so well for Kate and Martha, I wonder what "curveball" the writers have in store for us all?

Probably explains why Fake Jenkins told Rick anything at all.

kman, I don't know. If he knew then he must have been on board with the plan somehow or I'd think he would have done something to get his son out. Of course he could have been on his own mission and out of touch for the time frame that Castle was missing. It's possible he didn't know about it until Rick was already back. We'll just have to wait until Sept. 21st to find out!

We'll just have to wait until Sept. 21st to find out! He would not have had to be involved with, or on board with the plan, or even the two months he was missing, but I'll lay odds he had at least a VERY very interesting conversation with Jenkins after the fact. Nor would it surprise me if that whole affair later on when Castle started to remember was a ruse at Hunt's "suggestion". Castle got just enough of the truth to get on with his life with Beckett with a clear conscience. I highly doubt a highly trained guy like Jenkins would have taken that punch to the face Castle gave him without retaliating otherwise.

In addition to all the other questions raised here, I wonder how Rick and Kate would find out that Jackson has disappeared. Didn't he once say something about he's basically a ghost? Dang, now I need to go watch "Hunt" and "Deep Cover" again to remember exactly what Jackson told Rick about his life and work.
