Hi All, Well, there's still some ice and snow on the ground, but that should be gone soon. They temperature is supposed to rise every day this week. By Friday, the forecast says it will be almost 60 degrees! That's quite the jump from the 15 degrees we had just a few days ago. We had a nice, quiet weekend. Just did a little visiting with my cousins, but not much else. How are things going with you? Check in and let us know.

I'm camping this week until Wednesday. We have had o on and off rain the last few days. 60's & 70's with snow in the surrounding Mountains. Quartzite is a desert town surrounded by BLM land. There are thousands of RV's from all over the country who come here in January for the big RV show.

It is warming around here also. We had single digit temperatures almost every morning last week...but never below zero. Winds were constantly gusting 10-15 MPH for a week. Daily there were periods of sustained winds 20-25 with gusts to 30 MPH for as much as half an hour. Weather experts around here said they had not seen this before. However, the temperatures are due to be about 60 by the end of this week! There are reports of some 'hatching outbreak' of two types of cicadas around here this summer. Apparently, this simultaneous hatching for these two types of cicadas last occurred over 200 years ago. Only 207 days until the two-week '2024 Great Canada Fishing Adventure' begins near Sioux Lookout, Ontario, for my brother and me. This will be our 20th trip. Only COVID travel restrictions of border crossing stopped us one year. I already bought my 2024 fishing license on-line on 1 January. Of course, I already have flight reservations to meet Jack in Minneapolis for travel to the camp. Be prepared when little details count.

Another rainy day! It's in the 50s again and dreary. I like the rain (we always need it), but not the cold damp weather. The 70s are supposed to return by the weekend. At least we don't have snow and below zero temps. Stay safe and warm everyone.

DrvrTrnr, it's so funny that you're calling temps in the 50s cold. After a week in the teens here, it's now in the 50s and feels fantastic! I guess it's all about what you're used to. I'm thrilled that everything has finally melted. My backyard and the back half of my driveway was a sheet of ice. The downside of everything melting is that the dog ran back inside with very muddy paws before I realized what had happened. Now I have to scrub down the entryway. It's a good thing she's cute.
