Hi All,
Well, we finally got all of our holiday decorations down. Last week we took down the outdoor lights. Astrid decided to help. When she saw me pulling the string of lights off the bushes, she grabbed hold of one end in her mouth and pulled. Being a German Shepherd, that light string didn't stand a chance. Looks like I'll have to buy new lights for those bushes for next year.
Almost all of the neighbors on our block had lights and decorations up for the holidays and it was quite cheerful, so it's a bit depressing now that the neighborhood is cold and dark. I feel like we should keep at least some lights up until the end of February so that there's something cheery to look at during these dark months.
We also took our tree down on Sunday. Our cat decided to help with that. More than one ornament was batted around the living room and when the garland from the stair railing went into its box, she decided it made a wonderful bed.
And then there was the adventure of cleaning up all the pine needles. The dog barks at the broom while the cat chases it. They do keep things interesting. But currently, Astrid is asleep at my feet while Darcy (the cat) is curled up on my daughter's lap, so all is finally cozy and quiet here.
How was your weekend? Are your decorations down? And what does the week ahead look like where you are? Check in and let us know.

We got about three inches of snow last night. Not bad, but we seems to be getting icy rain now which is far worse.
Oh, and we have close family friends who all have Covid, and my Mom has RSV. Thankfully, everyone seems to be recovering, but stay safe out there!

We just had a dusting of snow but it's been below 20 for several days now. We're supposed to get above freezing on Monday. This kind of cold isn't normal for us especially for this long, but we're staying warm and so far healthy.

I start my new year camping season off on Thursday. Heading up near Quartzite Arizona where there will be thousands of RV’s driving in for the big tent RV gathering. I love shopping all of the booths in town with my RV friends. It is supposed to be back in the 70’s by Thursday so it should be a very comfortable trip.

Well, it's snowing here, although we shouldn't get a lot. Our backyard is mostly a sheet of ice. The dog doesn't quite know what to make of it. It cracks under her paws and then she tries to eat it.
It's supposed to be in the teens this weekend, but by next Wednesday or Thursday we'll be close to 50 degrees! I'm looking forward to that.
Stay warm.

We have 3.4 inches of snow so far today and 8 inches in past week. We had only 7.5 inches all last year. Somebody is messing with climate! We are forecast to have 50s next week. Whatever, it means the water table will be improved as it was dry so much of last year. Our dog sinks into the snow which makes things very 'difficult' for a short-legged dog. Nevertheless, she still goes to the back door and whimpers to get out when the need arises. Thankfully she is determined to remain a well-trained dog.
