Hi everyone!
This is probably the occasion to "let sleeping dogs lie" but I can't because you took the time and trouble to send birthday wishes which I had not expected. I don't know if I will be banned because I have broken a rule of the Board, or worse, no-one responds to any future posts which I may write.
I have absolutely no problem telling someone how old I am. I was born in 1960 which means that I've been around for 55yrs. Haven't done anything with those years except count them off but I don't think that I've had any "I wish I had" moments. And besides, it's a little late for regrets at my age. The problem I do have is telling people my birth date. If family or friends forget the date they need to ask someone who remembers because I won't volunteer the information. So... August 15th is not my birth date, but neither is it a random date. I was my mom's birthday. She died very unexpectedly in early 2012. It was a huge shock, still is. And even at my age, not a day goes by that I don't think about her, find myself smiling when I think "mom would have loved that!" or know that she would have hated the sporadic heat that the UK had during its summer. To have people that she will never know acknowledge her birthday just made me smile.
So whatever you decide, THANK YOU for making August 15th such a special day for me.
B.x

Thanks geezer for being the first to send birthday wishes.
Fjordmom - snail mail! (Ok, so it was a tortoise) My kinda mail which is sooo last century I know but I still enjoy opening an envelope (except when it's a company wanting payment) and reading the contents someone has sent.
Java - sorry, I'm not the articulate, intellectual who posted at ABC. I was KB1L40 over there but on the original proboard I was 1L40. Sorry it may be confusing.
B.x
