Hi All, How is September almost over? I suddenly realize I'm staring down the timeline for the holidays and I'm no where near ready. We've gotten lots of rain from the edges of Hurricane Ophelia, but at least it's much cooler now. And our poor puppy is teething like crazy. Her gums are bloody and she wants to chew everything she can get her mouth on. She'll be five months old later on this week. On the upside, it looks like the writers strike is about to come to an end. Hopefully, the actors strike will soon follow. If so, maybe we'll see some new TV come this spring. Now it's your turn. Check in and let us know how you're doing.

We have had four days of continuing slow rain totaling 2.5 inches. Everything has exploded with growth. Dawn's roses and the lawn look amazing. We had pulled four trash cans and three bags of miscellaneous rapidly expanding 'wildflowers' and weeds. Fortunately, the yard waste trash pickup folks struggled to get all that stuff in their truck. Of course, there will be 'eager replacements plants' ready to appear so that we can pull and dig them up too. And, to think some people consider yard work a 'hobby'...poor souls.

Our goofoff month of Sept. proved to be anything but. Penny played soccer for her school. My SIL, little Pete, and I have been going to football games in our area almost every week, and all our regular stuff. We had a very nice few days "up North" last week and are going up for a couple more days this week. The Fall foliage should be amazing. The weather has been warmer than average and is to continue so for another week. We could actually use some rain. Happy Fall to all of you

I'm on the road this week. Went to Eugene to see my cousins. The 3 boys are like brothers to me and I was the little sister to them. I don't get to see them often. They are big Oregon Duck fans. They were at the Colorado game sat. From there I sent to Grants Pass to get work done on my suspension system. Thank God for this place. They did an inspection at the convention and found some major issues. They have been in business for 50 years and have a great reputation in the west. I will hopefully be out of here tomorrow after they finish up the front end alignment and we take it for a test drive. Reno tomorrow, Vegas the next day and then home on Friday. After all of these issues with my suspension it is a miracle I made it back from Maryland and drove up here to Oregon.i had a guardian angel watching over me🥪💞

larryholmes, when the rain finally stopped yesterday, the entire neighborhood was out mowing their lawns because everything was so overgrownd. I mowed, got my edger out to cleanup around the walkways, and pulled a bunch of weeds from the flowerbeds. We had been planning to splurge on a landscaper this fall, but with Todd being laid off we had to change the plan. So, I'm removing all the weeds and old mulch from the front flower beds myself. Then I plan to buy landscaper fabric to put down, and invest in some river rock for the beds. Between our dog, who loves to dig, and the neighbors cats, the mulch I put down this year was a mess, and it would be nice to have something that requires a little less maintenance.

tycho657, I'm happy to hear you got the RV fixed. It's scary to realize how far you'd driven not knowing anything was wrong. We just got a whole lot of rain today. There was some flooding in my area, but nothing that affected me directly. But my brother-in-law is in California for work, and his car is in the long-term parking lot at JFK airport where sections are supposedly flooded. He has no idea if he still has a car until he gets back!
