Well, summer is officially over. I have been watching the US Open Tennis all week. That is on my bucket list to travel to NYC to watch in person someday. The American's are doing well this year. I hope they can go all the way. I leave Friday in my RV heading to Oregon. I am really watching the weather as Las Vegas got some big rain and flooding the last couple of days. I am hoping it will stay dry the next week. I will head thru Las Vegas and Reno on my way to Oregon. I will be out of contact for the next few weeks as I travel and have marginal internet. How is your fall looking?

tycho657, thanks for starting this thread and stay safe while you're on the road! If all goes well, we'll be taking the dog down the shore tomorrow. She likes water, but I'm curious to see her reaction to the waves. No real plans today other than I'm gathering all the bills to see how much we have left to get some landscaping and house projects done this fall. And school starts this week. Kate wanted to write out her schedule in her notebook and that's when we logged on and realized that lunch had disappeared from the schedule! There must be a system glitch. I figured out where it's supposed to be. They doubled the class time in one section and deleted lunch. Hopefully, they'll fix it tomorrow as school starts on Wedensday. We're back up into the 90s with 70 to 80% humidity. Not fun for the kids headed back to school as many classrooms do not have air conditioning. Hopefully, this is our last round of this type of heat and fall weather will roll in soon.

Astrid had her first trip down the shore and she really seemed to enjoy it. She played in the water, jumped and tried to bite the waves, rolled around in the sand, and tried to eat the shells. She even got a cup of vanilla ice cream as a treat on the way home. Once home, she definitely needed a bath and Todd and I had to tag team her to get the job done, but overall it was a fun filled day.

We had 12 days of super fishing: 1,152 walleyes, only 2 smallmouths, 1 rock bass, 35 northerns [these pike attack hooked walleyes sometimes and will not let go thus leaving you to catch 'wall-pike'], and several big white suckers that look like very much like 'colorless carp' to me. Weather was either nice all day or very windy in late afternoon if it appeared. The local wildfires conditions were about like here - just smokey skies. Once, we had a morning of suddenly very thick fog after we left camp at our usual 0700 departure. Our buddy [Stew] who lives in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, and was the primary Conservation Officer on Minnataki Lake for almost 40 years, pulled over to shore and we waited about an hour for the fog clearing. It had completely hidden everything things over 20-25 yards away. Stew decided to get near to shore when he said that he was not positive where potential problems might be. Honestly, it was unnerving and very similar to being a patrol leader in the Vietnam jungle. I caught the largest walleye on separate days - each was 26 1/2 inches. Stew and I used leeches on 1/16 or 1/8 ounce jig heads. Jack [my brother] used minnows on 1/8 ounce jig heads. The camp boats are perfect for three people. We are already booked for two weeks end of August next year!

Just a heads up if anyone has been trying to reach nathanfan1, her internet has been down for over a week now. AT&T said it would be back up today, but since it's the fourth time they've told her that we're not feeling very optimistic.

FYI, nathanfan is still without internet. Now, they are saying it will hopefully be back up on Monday. Fingers crossed!

T! Send me any rain you have, we are in a drought! Hope everyone is doing well.
