Hi All, I'm not quite sure where last week went. Work was busy, it was hot, and we're getting ready to head back to school next week. I'm also coming up with a plan to reseed the backyard since fall is almost upon us. Our town had a riverside music event this weekend, which we checked out and brought the puppy. German Shepherd puppies must be like catnip to police officers. The ones who were at the event couldn't seem to get enough of her. Speaking of Miss Astrid, she is now four months old and weighs 32 lbs. Unfortunately, she's teething. I can see the new teeth coming through, so she wants to chew on anything she can get her mouth on. But at least she doesn't keep me up all night like Kate did when she was a baby! Oh, and a quick FYI: Nathanfan's internet service is down and has been for days. Hopefully, they'll get it up and running soon, and she'll be back. Okay, now it's your turn. Check-in and let us know what's happening where you are.

I got a big Thunder and rain storm at my house last night. I love the monsoon season. Most of the valley didn't get rain. Where my house is located near a mountain I get rain more than most. My desert plants will love the rain. My ocotillo will be green very soon. I am planning my next RV trip up to Oregon. There will be a National RVing Women's convention in Salem. I have family and friends in Oregon. I went to college in Oregon, lived in Oregon when I started teaching, got married in Oregon, and we volunteered one summer and lived inside a volcano's caldera. I will of course get over to the ocean for my ocean fix. Now I need to pack the RV and get my window fixed hopefully before I head out. The window has been on order since May. I volunteered this last weekend for the Arizona Humane Society for their big event to clear the kennels. Hills sponsored the event. People could adopt any dog, cat, or "critter"(those were rabbits at this time but we sometimes have other animals). We found homes for over 70 dogs on Saturday. Not sure of the cat numbers. Sunday was not as busy but when I left we had about 25 dogs and 15 cats that had found homes. On Saturday a family adopted a very large Great Dane. They had one before so they were looking for one. Little dogs and kittens usually go fast. It's the larger dogs and older cats that have a hard time finding homes. I was able to get my 2 cats on one of these free weekends.

We would love to have a big thunder and rain storm at our house. We get the thunder, but no rain. The east valley where Teresa lives seems to get the brunt of the storms. Since June, we've had only two 5-minute downpours, just enough to get everything wet but not enough to do any good. Rain is predicted for later today. We'll see, lol.
My husband has finally been released from home health. After all the procedures he had while in the hospital, his heart weakened a little. He's had a pacemaker for several years and now has to wear a heart vest for a month. His cardiologist is hoping the heart will regain its strength. If not, he'll need a different pacemaker. He just can't seem to catch a break.
Our daughter's baby shower is next month on the 17th. Her in-laws are in charge of it. We got her a crib, mattress and cover, and a couple sheets for our gift. Luckily those things will be delivered to her house so we won't have to do that ourselves. The Oct 30th due date is fast approaching. She's starting to feel a lot more uncomfortable amd I said it'll be over before she knows it. Then the real fun begins, lol.
