Happy Monday, Everyone. This summer has gone by much too fast, although I am happy about the drop in the temps. Most days are in the 80s, with about 70% humidity here. It's when we get into the 90s that it really begins to bother me, and I can't imagine the areas that are over 100 regularly! Yesterday, we got one of those plastic kiddie pools and set it up in the backyard for the dog. My daughter and I both stepped into it to get the pup to see it was safe. Once she got in, she had a great time. It was funny to see her try and figure out how to get toys that had sunk to the bottom because it required sticking her whole face in the water, which was new for her. I also got some more painting done (it's coming along little by little) and the lawn mowed, so I'll take that as a good day. So how is your week starting out? Check-in and let us know.

It was only 95 yesterday, lol. We were expecting clouds and rain all weekend from Hurricane Hilary. We got the clouds but no rain. The main storm heading north was too far west for Phoenix. Places along the Colorado River and southern California got the brunt of it. We still have the clouds and it's very humid. I'm looki8ng forward to the return of our nice dry air.

Sunday was a sad day. .Tolki also know as Lolita, the SouthernResident Orca died before she could be returned to her home waters. It was hoped that she would hear her Mother’s voice again before she died. A “Super pod” gathered the day she died. A super pod is a gathering on San Juan Island in Washington of all of the Southern resident pods J , K, and L. She was a member of the Lpod. Her mother is still alive. Toki was 57 we think. Orcas live long lives. Her mother is still swimming free. “Granny” lived to be over 100. She was the matriarch of the 3 pods. She died a couple of years back. I saw her and have a picture of her that I took. I put up a puzzle from a tribute picture that someone put up on one of the sites I follow. I live next to some hills on the edge of the valley and have had rain many days. It rained all day yesterday. It got down into the 70’s last night which really cooled my pool off. I like to swim every morning but I skip n days when I hear thunder or it is raining.

I’m looking at the national weather this morning. I feel for those in the middle of the country with the many 100+ temperatures. With the terrible high humidity I couldn’t take it. Please be careful.

tycho657, I was readying about Tolki/Lolita. Such a sad story. I wish it had turned out differently. The weather suddenly got cooler this week. It's been in the high 70s and rainy. It feels like fall already, but we'll see how long it lasts. My daughter's school schedule comes out later today. I know the kids in a lot of areas have started already, but we don't go back until just after Labor Day.

Wow this is the hottest week of the year. The humidity is so oppressive. The heat index is over 115 every day. I was watching the golf tournament in Atlanta and the guys don't have a dry stitch on them. Can't wait for this to pass.

Although the high has only been in the low 80s, the humidity is oppressive, even for those of us used to it here in New Jersey. It's been 90+% humidity all day today. When I walk outside from an air-conditioned area, my glasses fog up.
Still, I'll take that over 115!
