Hi All, Well, I'm headed down the shore today for a much-needed break. It's a bit cloudy out, but it's 80 degrees, and a cloudy day at the beach is better than a sunny day most anywhere else. I'll update you more later. I just wanted to get this thread started before I left. So please, check-in and let us know how you are doing.

We are doing well and finally getting to enjoy summer without games to go to. We've been to a zoo, Green Bay Film Festival, movies, book club, and other fun stuff. Last week, she took Penney to a rock painting class and I took Pete to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We are having an all day soft rain(needed) or I would of been out motorcycle riding. Rikki is at her knitting-crochet group today. One of our older granddaughters is coming for an overnight visit this week. She works as an EMT and goes to Nursing school. She has one year left and has been on the Deans List all through school while working. Obviously, we are very proud of her. Hope you all are having good summers and the weather isn't awful in you r areas.

Enjoy the shore. I am working on getting my ocean fix next month. I have been researching RV camping spots as I head to Oregon. I find it hard to do "boondocking" where you just pull off the road and stay for the night. I travel alone so I am not comfortable doing that. I was looking at a small RV park and when I clicked on their web site...I got a major virus. I had to take my new computer into the Data Doctors and have them rid it of the virus. They said that more and more of these viruses are showing up. This little RV park could not afford to put in some virus protection for their site. I am looking forward to just sitting on the shore and listening to the wonderful sound of brakers come on shore. I am in need of some ocean time. Sad news about Maui. That was my favorite place to visit in the Hawaiian Islands. The local people will have a hard time rebuilding their homes. I hope they get the help they need to rebuild their community. I have painted lots of rocks. I have many on my window sills in my breakfast nook as my cats love to knock things down. The rocks hold up well...

We are anxiously waiting for a foal out of one of our mares to be born! She's due any day now. Hopefully, all will go well with the birth, but it's her first foal and you never know. I have my grandson coming for a play day with me on Friday. It's hard to believe but school will be starting soon and we won't have much time together. He's turning 10 at the end of the month and I consider myself blessed that he still wants to spend time with me!
His oldest brother, who just graduated from high school, is now settled for the coming year. He will be playing Junior Hockey for a team out of Alexandria, Minnesota. They drafted him to be their goalie. He'll be playing all around the upper Midwest and living in Alexandria with 2 other guys from the team. It's about 2 1/2 hours from where we live. This is his dream, to try to advance in the hockey world and perhaps get a scholarship offer from a college. We hope it goes well for him!

Only two days until travel begins for two weeks of '2023 Great Canada Fishing Adventure'. I fly from Dulles Airport and brother [Jack] picks me up in Minneapolis. Usually takes about one minute to jump in his SUV and we are on the road to International Falls to cross the border and travel to Dryden for overnight. Early next day to Lake Minnitaki [near Sioux Lookout]. I FEDEXed all my stuff to him about three weeks ago. Yahoo!

The shore was wonderful, so much so that we're trying to see if we can do it again next week. The beach was beautiful, the water was perfect, and during the week it isn't that crowded.
But we didn't make it to the boardwalk, which is on the must-do list next time since Kate wants deep-fried Oreos and my Mom wants salt water taffy.
