So, yesterday was Monday. As you may have determined from the lack of posts, that kind of flew right passed me. Kate, Todd, and I went to see Oppenheimer. I hadn't realized it was Rated R. I'm usually on top of these things and research movies before bringing Kate. But not this time. So I didn't know there'd be a sex scene with a half-naked Florence Pugh. Not the end of the world, but it's a lesson for me not to be lax just because the subject matter is historical. Anyway, I enjoyed the movie but Todd and Kate didn't. As the title would suggest, it's about the man as much as the history. As Kate hasn't studied much about WWII yet, there was a lot she didn't get. Todd just didn't appreciate some of the more artistic/stylistic choices they made in the film. I've got a busy week ahead, and I'm not sure how I'm going to get everything done. It's a busy week at work. Thankfully, the temps have dipped back down into the 80s. I want to get back to painting, and there's a ton of yard work to do, plus a whole bunch of errands that need to get done this week. Wish me luck! Okay, now it's your turn. Check-in and let us know how your week is going.

Today is finally going to be under 110...109...then back up over 110 the rest of the week. Nights are getting down into the 80's so my pool is now about 85 when I swim in the morning. I'm planning my next RV trip up to Oregon in Sept. I will spend 4 days on the Oregon coast, I need my ocean fix, and then to Salem for the National RVing Women's convention. I have cousins in Oregon and friends from when I lived in Bend that I will see on this trip. I think I will skip seeing Oppenheimer in the theater and wait for it to stream on something. It sounds interesting but 3 hours seems like too long to sit in a theater. I will try and put up a few more puzzles.

Today is hopefully the day my husband will be done with his wound vac. That's an extra 10 lbs he's been carrying around his neck the last month and a half. At least the foot is almost totally healed. It'll still need some kind of ointment and then wrapped in gauze to complete the healing.
We're getting about a 2 day break from the 110+ temps and then back up into the one teens again. Still no rain at our house to help cool things off. It's even been too hot for the weeds, lol.
Schools in our area are starting back up this week. It seems they're opening earlier every year. Before too long, summer vacation will be a thing of the past. Some districts already have year-round school. Try to stay cool, everyone!

Our town had a National Night Out event this week. There was free food, face painting, balloon animals, etc. The Sheriff's office did a K9 demonstration. The fire department used their big hose to spray water all over the kids.
And everyone wanted to say hi to our dog. The Sheriff's officer, police officers, the firemen, and women. Too many random people to count and so many kids. She's fluffy and 3 & 1/2 months old, so she's very popular, but after about an hour, we decided to leave. Although she adjusted to the noise and activity quickly, it felt like all of the people (and lots of kids) that kept running up to her might be too much. But I am glad we went. It was a fun event.
