Hi All, Sorry for the delay with this thread. We were traveling and just got back home. I'll post more about our trip soon, but I wanted to get this post up for everyone. It was a good time to be away from home. There was a major water main break in our town last Thursday. Most of our town had NO water for three days. The water company had crews working round the clock over the holiday weekend to tear out the old broken pipe and put in a new one. The local YMCAs allowed nonmembers to use their bathrooms and showers, and the town gave out lots of jugs of water. Thankfully, it was fixed as of Sunday night and they lifted the boil water advisory late last night. So they got it all fixed before we got home! And summer has definitely found us. It's in the high 80s to 90s all this week. I'm grateful we've got water. So check-in and let us know how things are with you.

Thankfully you are home, the city is 'repaired', and you can rest in your own bed! We have had a wonderful time with Dawn's brother and his wife for three weeks. They are visiting from England. We have not seen them in over 15 years...such really delightful people. Weather in Winchester has been 'goofy' for several days. Rains very hard for a few minutes and then sun appears only to be overcome by rain again. Humidity is very high...dogs don't want to go for walks at all. Nevertheless, good news is that it is only 47 days until Great Canada Fishing Adventure #20.

Well, we did it. We got a puppy. She's a long-hair German Shepherd. Her name is Astrid and she's 10 weeks old. More details to come shortly. Wish us luck! I think we're going to need it.

I got to meet Astrid! Oh - and I also got to see and visit with Christine and her family! That puppy is a real heart stealer. She was sure a good house guest. The trip to bring her home took them within 10 miles of me so we made the most of it and spent a WONDERFUL afternoon together. The. highlight of my summer!

Water main brakes are no fun. The RV park had the pump to the well go out on the 4th. I always keep a half tank of water in my RV but many did not have any water for a couple of days. If that would happen at my house in Arizona I always have 4 gallons of my RO water ready for the RV. Also I can use water from my pool to flush toilets. I am on day 2 of my trek back from Maryland to Arizona. Today I am at an RV park near Mammoth Cave National Park. I am hoping to tour tomorrow. After that it will be driving, sleeping, driving, sleeping etc until I get home. So cool that Bobbie got to see the new puppy and you all. Good luck with the training.

Drive carefully...it is so easy to fall into the 'just go a few more miles then rest' trap!
