Happy Juneteenth Everyone, This is my daughter's last week of school, so we're counting down the last few days. But all of her tests and projects are done, so this should be a fun, short week for her. Between yesterday and today, I got a bunch of yard work done. I pulled out most of the ivy, cut out two old, large, mostly dead azalea bushes, and trimmed an overgrown box tree. There are still a few more things to do, but we should be ready when they come to install the fence at the end of the week. Also, my cousin is coming by tonight to bring me all the supplies so I can finally start painting my living room and dining room. He's a contractor and actually does finishing work for an interior designer, so he's had lots of good tips on exactly how to get this done and has probably saved me from making plenty of mistakes already. I'll keep you all updated. But now it's your turn, so check in and let us know how things are going for you.

Greetings Everyone! I've been missing in action for months, but I'm finally getting back to my old routines and wanted to check in. Late this past winter, I started retaining fluid and having a harder and harder time getting around. I started using a rolling chair to get around in the house and eventually needed a wheel chair to get in and out of the house. We have steps at every door so we had a ramp built off our deck out back.I was also doctoring once a week for a stubborn open wound at a clinic that was an hour away every week. It all came to a head in May when I got to where I just couldn't get my breath. The ambulance took me to the hospital where I stayed for a week and had fluid drained off to take the pressure off my heart and lungs. It's amazing how much a week in bed can weaken you! It's been a slow recovery at home but I'm pretty much there now. I'm still not mobile but that wasn't expected to change. I get around well in my house and can get out when I need to. Parallel to this, was an issue with my husband! I won't go into all the details but he ended up having open heart bypass surgery (non emergency) while I was in the hospital. Weren't we a pair? ? Thankfully, he's recovering quite well and is finally allowed to drive again. He still has lifting restrictions and will until mid August, but he was strong and fit going into this and that's really made it easier for him to get moving again. It's still one of the greatest challenges he's ever faced because he's so active with the farm and animals. To sit and do nothing was driving him crazy. He has no hobbies to fall back on either. So there you have it! I sure hope our lives continue to fall back into a satisfying routine and we both can stay healthy for a long time! We are eternally grateful to our oldest daughter who has not only taken care of the animals, but has provided us with all of the day to day support we needed to get through this. She's a saint! As far as this week goes, it continues to be hot and dry. This our 3rd summer drought in a row and we're sure needing rain and more moderate temps.

nathafan1, I knew there was something terribly wrong because you haven't posted anything for quite a while. I'm so sorry to hear about all the medical things going on with you and your husband. It sounds like you're both on the mend and should be in a better situation soon. Going through medical problems with my husband the last month and a half (still ongoing), I know full recovery takes time. Keep your faith and all should be good soon.

Wow...so pleased that you are seeing improvement for both of you and remaining positive while seeking return to 'normal'!

I thought there was something going on with you. Glad to hear things are improving. As we get on in years things start to not work as well as they use to for sure. Glad to hear things are looking up. I hope Steve takes it easy and doesn’t push to hard to do things.
I am enjoying my stay in Maryland visiting my Grandson’s family. His 3 little ones keep me busy. There is a wonderful playground across the street from where my RV is parked so they love to come and play. My daughter works all the time so I have only seen her twice so far. I have been surprised that the weather has been cool. I only brought one pair of jeans and one sweatshirt. Today was rain all day. I have put on my sweatshirt, jeans and shoes and socks today to try and stay warm. At least I have two kitties who like to snuggle😻😻

NathanFan I hate to hear about all the problems you and hubby have had. I spent months going to the wound clinic every week with my brother. Sometimes it seems like it will never heal. I'm glad things are going better for you both. Hang in there and keep working to get better.
