Happy Father's Day to all of our dads, granddad, step-dads, pet dads, and everyone else who takes on the role. We hope you have a wonderful day. We'll be having a low-key day as my husband has requested a day at home watching movies with his favorite take-out. Our daughter has a gift for him and will be buying him ice cream. My husband is still in the skilled nursing/rehab facility getting PT and wound care on his foot. He's doing so much better. Our kids took advantage of the Father's Day BO/GO meal special and brought lunch for all of us to the facility. We played a fun card game after. I was surprised there weren't many visitors there today.
I need to have a plumber come to install a new bathroom faucet. The shut-off valves are old and corroded and there was a small leak. Luckily one of our SILs did something to stop the leak temporarily. The sand filter for our pool sprung a leak and we lost half of the water. I wanted to drain it and refill it but the pool people said nobody will do that because the air temperature is above 80. We went over a week before the new one could be installed, so the pool developed an algae problem because the pump couldn't run without the filter. Now I'm putting in lots of shock to get the algae under control. We won't be swimming for quite a while. Other than all of this, everything is fine, lol!

DrvrTrnr, I'm glad to hear that your husband is doing better. Hopefully, he'll be home soon. And I'm happy your family was still able to get together for the holiday. I'm sure that meant a lot to him. Sorry to hear about your plumbing and pool issues. I know what that's like. Well, not the pool, as I don't have one of those, but at the moment, I'm grateful because it just feels like it would be one more thing I'd likely have to fix! But I hope yours gets cleared up soon so you can enjoy it an stay cool.

DvrTmr pool problems when it is finally warm enough to use is a pain. I had to have my sand filter replaced a few years back. The one they put in originally was way too big. My pool was finally warm enough to use the day I took off for the east  Glad your husband is on the mend. Hopefully he will be home soon. This was the first time I was able to be with my Grandson on Father's Day. He is more like my son. This was so special to be with him and his family. He has 3 children 5, 3, and 6 months. They are amazing parents who are dedicated to their children. |
