Hi All, Sorry for the late post. The day got away from me. It looks like we're getting a nice week. 50 to 60 degrees and mostly sunny. This week we've got doctor's appointments and dentist appointments, so not a lot that's fun. I just learned that my long-time dentist passed away. I really liked him. He was an older Italian man with a big family who was in the Naval Reserves for 35 years. He'd tell stories about the two weeks a year when they'd send him on a ship to different parts of the world to do dental care for populations that don't normally have any. Even though the dental practice has another dentist that I like, I will definitely miss this man. And in other news, my front yard is full of weeds! It literally snowed last week, but it only took a couple of days of sunshine for the weeds to set in. I'm hoping to find some time this week to take care of that. Now it's your turn. Check in and let us know how your week is going.

Best of luck with the Drs. and Dentist, Christine.
We are having a nice quiet week. We started making plans for a 5 day getaway in May. We also finished going through all the albums. Another big job finished. Friday, we will watch Everything, Everywhere, All At Once, the Oscar winner for Best Picture. We really enjoyed watching the Oscars this year. Kimmel is a great host.

I haven't seen it yet, but I know some people who loved it and others who thought it was so weird they didn't finish watching it!

I had a very painful root canal this morning. It flared up last week. I couldn't get in until yesterday for the special xray but had to wait today to get it done. I have had swelling since last Thursday when my dentist gave me the amoxicillin. The special endo Dentist could not get the nerve to deaden.I saw a rainbow as I went into the building this morning. That was not a good sign... I cancelled out of my volunteer gig today for the Humane Society at the Botanical garden. Good thing as I could not have done that today. The Salt River, down the road from me, is higher than I have ever seen it. A kayaker died on the river last weekend. They actually closed the road yesterday to keep people away from the dangerous waters.

tycho657, I'm so sorry about your horrible dental experience. I had one like that once. I was sent to a root canal specialist who ended up breaking the tooth. Then said I needed an oral surgeon. As it was 5pm on a Friday and the oral surgeon was closed, they sent me home with an open tooth and no pain meds! Not a fun night. Thankfully, the oral surgeon fit me in on Saturday, but it still wasn't fun. I hope you are recovering and feeling better soon!

Teresa, hearing about that kayaker made me think of you. At least you're smarter than that guy was and know to stay away from the river!
Christine, sending you home with a broken tooth and no pain meds sounds like malpractice. I hope you filed a complaint against that guy! There aren't many things more painful than a bad tooth.
I've been trying to get over a bad cold. Tylenol and lots of liquids are on the menu. A good night's sleep would do wonders for me now.

DrvrTrnr, I never even thought about filing a complaint, but you're right. I probably should have. That "specialist" couldn't wait to leave for the weekend. That's one of the reasons why I loved my old dentist, who just passed away. Years back, on Memorial Day weekend, I had a toothache that made my whole head feel like it was going to explode. Being a holiday, my dentist's office was closed, but in desperation, I left a message on their emergency line. Well, my dentist called me back within half an hour. Then met me two hours later at the office. He had to turn on the lights, the computers, and the x-ray machine. He said I needed a root canal. He had no assistant. It was literally just us in the office, but he said if I was willing to hold some of the instruments for him, he could get it done. I was in so much pain I would have agreed to almost anything. Two hours later, after 8 pm on a holiday weekend, I walked out of their virtually pain-free. He will always hold a special place in my heart for that.

Wow...that really is a terrible loss when someone so dedicate is gone!

Sorry to bring up dental horror stories. I have had amazing caring dentist thru the years. Unfortunately most have now retired. This new endodontist I think is good. The tooth was just too inflamed. He has been texting me daily to check on my progress. The pain finally went away but the swelling is going down slowly. The Salt River is still very high. Two roads I usually use are closed as the river is flowing over the roads. We really need the water. They are talking about how they need to make changes to store this excess water. They say some will soak into the underground aquifers but I think that is not very efficient.

LOL, but we are giving up on watching the Oscar winning movie. This was the 4th one we have watched that was definitely strange. Let us know what you think of it. It is not something for Kate to see though IOU.
